what i bought was geek squad coverage and a flash

Improvement opportunity
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately, my computer needed some help. The man that I spoke to was very nice and seemed capable. He talked me into a three year contract for Geek Squad and I left my computer. They had it for 4 days, then informed me the problem was fixed. I picked it up and nothing had changed. It took four days on line with them to fix it.

OK But Not Great

But, I did find that when I had a question they seemed to want me to bring the unit in have it looked at on site. I use other such services and most of the diagnostics are done over the internet. That makes this service one that is less likely for me to use.

i don't understand what i bought

Service not good

However the GS manager where I purchased my computer was not knowlegable, rude, would not give me a chance to speak, and more or less told me to get lost because they could not and would not help me. Never again would I purchase a GS plan again from them.

Geek Squad

My computer had 1 virus that made it my computer hog the wifi and then one day made it stop connecting to the internet completely. Pitty I had to spend $200 to get it fixed, but the plus is that it won't cost me a cent to take in 3 computers/ devices for a year to get them fixed should a problem arise.

Geek Squad needs individuals familar with Macs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Came awaywith a 2 yr Support Plan and walked away with a Mac Book Pro that has two comcast mail icons with likewise two e-mails BUT only one can send an e-mail address. Advised when Mac was brought in that I was unable to get into a Bank Account because it required Cookies. Stil unable to install cookies on my own.

Not Knowledgable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was on business in Kingsport and my laptop died. They told me they could fix it. I left it with them for a week. They told me it was my hardware and they could fix it for another $100 (over the cost of Geek Squad membership). I declined and took it to a friend of mine at home in SC. My friend said it was a virus and nothing was wrong with my hard drive. I did get my membership money back from Best Buy but I’m glad I got a second opinion and needless to say those “geeks” were not very knowledgable.

Not much help

Once the pc has booted up to the desktop i receive annoying notification. "Your are running out of disk space". It asks to empty the recycling bin which is already empty. This occurs on every start up. I contacted Geek Squad and advised of the problem and was told this is common and there is no fix!!!! My old pc never had this problem. I googled the message and get conflicting data stating it is either a program or set up error. Apparently Geek Squad could not offer help. Bottom line membership was a waste of money

Del computer

Took in for repairs and told it was malware. Experienced same problem within a day. Took computer back and it was sent into repair center,. Mother board and Wi-Fi was replaced. Paid $100 to transfer data from old computer to the new bad computer . Best Buy try's to distant themselves from responsibility saying the customer is responsible for their data and expected me to pay another $100.00 to transfer my data a second time. The manager did pay for the second transfer but acted like he was doing me a favor. Best Buy attitude was they were not responsible for a bad Del computer.

Worst thing to spend money on.

Go to get the graphics card fixed on the computer for which I purchased the plan only to be told it only covers software . Software? now I have to spend over $500 for a new graphics card. Way to screw your best clients.
