Use it for a month for general purpose- everything is not bad. I was a bit surprised by Windows 10S restriction for installation from Google Play, but found some online and Windows apps for my needs. Another surprise was to see it unfold not more than for 120@

My 8 year old Daughter loves it!! Laptop is very affordable and it runs smoothly, its geared towards children, but I believe it’s a great laptop for all ages.

Bought for my 8 year old son and he LOVES it! This isn't your "top of the line" laptop but if you've got a little one i think this is much better than a chromebook. Plays minecraft flawlessly. Great buy

The laptop failed to start up on initial power on. Windows attempted to load, but I got the dreaded “blue screen of death”. The computer rebooted and insisted that I connect to a wireless network. Upon doing so, the computer did manage to reach out and download the necessary drivers to right itself. After several minutes, the Geo rebooted once again, had to “think” for a little while, and then finally managed to start up. After this initial hiccup, the Geo appears to function properly and I’ve encountered no further errors since, but this behavior is not what was expected of a product from a company that prides itself on its relationship with Microsoft. USE AND PERFORMANCE You really need to temper your expectations for this little laptop. It is basically a Chromebook running the Windows 10 OS. For kids in elementary or middle school, or even senior adults that need the basics for web surfing, emails, or Google classroom, this little laptop will work just fine. However, if you need anything more than the bare minimum, this would not be a worthwhile consideration. The Geo ships with an older image of Windows 10 (it ships with the 20H2 update). After initial start-up, the first Windows update takes a substantial amount of time. Set aside a good hour to be safe. After that, the laptop works admirably at its intended purpose. With Windows 10 being locked in S-Mode, it will limit what apps can be installed. For example, it would not let me install the Chrome browser for my son. But that is also a good thing, as it can help limit the chances of getting a virus or other forms malware. After the initial Windows start-up and Windows update, there wasn’t a lot of room left on the 64GB drive. I went through and deleted as many unwanted programs as I could. Thankfully, Geo doesn’t ship with bloatware. However, after uninstalling all unnecessary apps, doing a good disk clean up, and optimization, I was left with only 28GB of usable space. That isn’t much left if I did want to install Office or some other programs. The screen isn’t the greatest. It is fairly low resolution at 1366 x 768, but due to its small size, doesn’t look too pixelated. The display is clean and clear enough for the easy reading of schoolwork and/or websites without excessive eyestrain. After the initial issues during first power up, the laptop has worked without issue. The Wi-Fi connects without fuss and all the ports work perfectly. Speaking of ports, the Geo has a limited selection, but hits the necessary marks (1 USB-A, 1 USB-C, mini-HDMI, headphone, and charging port). Again, minimal, but more than adequate. The inclusion of a mini-HDMI port to allow the connection to a larger monitor is a great feature! Battery life under heavy use is right around 5 hours. Not bad and should go considerably longer with lighter use. The laptop is small, lightweight and easily fits in a kid’s backpack. The blue color is a nice change from the standard blacks and grays, but the white lettering on the keyboard, makes it hard to read. FINAL THOUGHTS At the end of the day, this laptop does exactly what it is intended to do. It makes a good first laptop for a kid, or a good laptop for an older adult that doesn’t need all the bells and whistles of a true Windows 10 laptop costing 2 – 3x more money. Worst case, if you find Windows performing poorly, there is nothing that would prevent you from installing the Chromium OS. Additionally, the laptop includes a free year of Office 365. If you already have Office 365 Family (like I do) it converts from a full year for one device, to a 9-month extension to your existing Family membership. That is a deal that is hard to beat. Recommended.

The Geobooks are great but I asked specifically about parental controls on these and were told it was easy and very good - that is not our experience and when my daughter came by with them to talk to the Geek Squad she was told she’d have to make an appointment and that they really didn’t know anything about what to do except to get a third party app and they had no suggestions for which app was good. So we are a bit frustrated and would appreciate any help that you all could give - parental controls are important for little kids these days…..

Purchased for my grandson and it meets his needs. He is using it for his minecraft games.

This is perfect for the use we had for it. We needed a laptop just for doing schoolwork and research and this is lightweight, and just right.

Laptop is a great gift for a child who play minecraft. Not alot of room for other games do not buy this thinking this is a gaming laptop. Perfect Christmas gift for my 9 year old daughter.

I like the computer, but the l and m and comma buttons often don't come out on the screen, so I have to look closely to be sure I don't look like a spelling idiot. It's very frustrating because I can't charge through things as I write. Perhaps this is a defect in this particular computer. But since I travel coast to coast, the time for return has expired. I also bought one at my other residence and when I'm there in 2 weeks, I'm going to take note of this. Also, perhaps the Geek Squad can look at it.

Fine product used for school. Comes pre installed with Minecraft makes it a great benefit for kids as well.

Love the fact that it has parental controls and the color was just perfect for my kid. It works properly and I have access to everything literally from my phone/laptop.I think it just needs a better camera that’s my only issue.

I would give this 5 stars but it is a Christmas gift for my son so it has not been opened up yet. The shipping was so fast!!! Less than 24 hrs after hitting order it was at the door! Very pleased with the price and shipping

This is an excellent option for anyone that has a kid who needs a computer and loves Minecraft.

Within 2 months of purchased the screen went partly black. No returns or support from bestbuy but manufacturer supposedly has 1 year warranty. I am going to try going through them but seems like a headache already. Would not recommend purchasing this item. It has been super slow since the begining and regret buying it.

A nice laptop for a younger kid. At first I wasn’t going to buy this laptop for my son because I was afraid he was too young but this laptop is very easy to use.

I really like the lightweight, small size, and power of my GeoBook. I highly recommend it.

So far, so good. This is my secondary laptop, which should be what it is used for. Would not recommend it if one was to use it as their main laptop. Got the open box deal for $105, so can't complain at all.

It was just what I needed, until I sat on it, and broke the screen. The size is not too small, especially keyboard wise, and not too large, overall. The keyboard is actually almost the same size as my Lenovo with a 14" screen. However, the surface feels more "on the go" friendly, and I felt more comfortable just putting it in a small carry bag for use "on the go" I use the Microsoft Office Suite, and write a lot of VBA code, and it worked well using Excel, while monitoring emails, and watching Amazon Prime videos, all at onece.

Love this laptop. It’s perfect for my oldest child’s gaming. Will probably purchase another for my other child.

Not too heavy for the size, perfect for kid to carry! The Minecraft game runs very smooth! My kid love it!
