This is by far my favorite game for the PS4. Breathtaking backdrops with amazing gameplay and extreme attention to detail make this my favorite game ever. I’m normally in to shooter games and was skeptical about getting a samurai game, but after seeing how beautiful the game was I decided to give it a shot and dime so glad that I did because this game is amazing. Some of the side missions are even better than the main storyline and there is SO much to do in this game. I have about 150-200 hours of gameplay on this game and there is still so much to do and discover. RDR2 was my favorite until I got this one ! 10/10 recommend.

I previously saw it explained as the Playstation equivalent of Breath of the Wild, and I must agree its fair statement. Obviously differences in graphic style and bloodplay, but similar in scope, the scale of the environment, combat options, and other features. The story is quite good and engaging. It has multiple levels of difficulty ranging from easy, with video-game likeness of being able to be stabbed and sliced multiple times before dying, to realistically difficult where a single sword strike is lethal. The range of weapons and combat style keeps for an interesting game, developing new methods as it progresses. In most encounters, on lower levels of difficulty you can either be sneaky and take out enemies silently like a ninja, or be gung-ho and attack the enemy head-on: letting the player decide how to approach an objective. The game has two really nice environmental touches. First, the wind will blow leaves and debris in the direction of your current objective, a subtle method of providing a navigation guide. Secondly, when the hero Jin obtains enough consecutive kills to activate a powerful mode for a short time, it sounds like thunder crashes for each attack made. The incorporation of ancient Japanese history and culture is another wonderful touch. While not perfectly historically accurate in many respects, it is close enough to appreciate. (It is my understanding that the Japanese version is more accurate in relation to the poetry, as the form of haiku presented in the English version was only developed at a later time.) I really enjoyed almost every aspect about the game aside from the constant need to go back and forth between distant objectives. The game gives a fast-warp capability, which helps accomplish this quickly, but its needed far too often (to the pint of being abusive) and breaks realism. At least Breath of the Wild tries to justify it as ancient technology - in Ghost of Tsushima it just happens with no explanation.

This Open world samurai game is amazing. You can either assassinate enemies or take them on head to head. The depth of this game beats out assassins creed.

Been waiting for this game a long time. But the developer delays were worth it. This is an incredible open world game with an excellent combat system and amazing graphics!

A masterpiece of a game in terms of story, graphics, gameplay etc... Amazing send-off for the last gen consoles and the ps5 upgrade to 60 fps is buttery smooth.

This is one of my favorite games. Big world full of medieval Japan goodness. I'm not s samurai junky and never really paid much attention to Japanese history but this game throws you right into it and makes you love that time period. In addition, this is the best looking, most prettiest game on the PS4. It's colors and the animation of the world around you is beautiful. I wish the real world was this pretty. The gameplay is fantastic, it's tight, accurate and provides many offensive and defensive moves. This should be a game every PS4 owner owns.

Beautiful graphics, a fantastic story, with fleshed-out well-written characters. Recommend playing with subs due to the fantastic work of the Japanese voice actors.

Look, if you have Japanese samurai film director stating that this game is a masterpiece, then there is something special going on here. Absolutely beautiful with compelling game play. Voice acting is solid both in Japanese and English. Although the Japanese dub does not line up with the lips sometimes, which is ironic because it was the opposite for Japanese films being dubbed English. Expect a movie while playing this. Bring Popcorn, but make sure to not get butter on your controller

I have absolutely enjoyed my time with this game. The UI elements (or lack thereof) really increase the level of immersion. Swordplay is fun and progression is naturally rewarding. Graphics are phenomenal (with the exception of water/waterfalls.. those are atrocious). My primary critique is the poor AI, which is frankly disappointing in 2020. I'd rate this a 4.5/5 if able, as this game is deserving.

BEST GAME OF ALL TIME! My new favorite game of all time so far. The action and the story are so elegantly displayed. I enjoyed every moment of the game.

Great Import game for PS4 from Japan. Great graphic, sound, and story. Great boss fights. With Black Friday deal, it is a must get game. Looks even better on PS5.

Wonderful open world action game with a very immersive story. Lots of options on how to approach situations. Best not for young children due to violence and blood.
