Excellent 4K package that easily replaces clunky blu ray package which was missing some content from the DVD

I thought I had this DVD and was surprised to see it missing. I decided to go blu -ray since it was about the same price as regular DVD and it was well worth it.

In my opinion, this is one of the best period films ever made. Strong performances by the altar cast make you feel as though you are there. Highly recommended.

This is a great movie that's held up well over the past 30 years. Great storytelling, great characters, and fantastic cinematography. You can't ask for much more than what this movie delivers. Denzel Washington is great, of course. I would highly recommend.

Well acted Civil War piece about the US' first black regiment, the 54th Volunteer out of Mass. Great performances from Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington (who won an oscar) as well as Cary Elwes and Mathew Broderick, who seems fittingly out of place. Fairly accurate historically, and a good watch!

This movie is still a great gem. From the acting of of all the majors to the shot selection and score, this movie has all the right pieces to stand the length of time.

The Civil War was a tragedy in US history and a major influence on our future. This movie relates an often overlooked portion of the War.

This is by far the best and most emotional movie about the Civil War, I've seen. It's also the most inspirational film anyone will see.

Rememeber watching this when I was younger. Went in and saw this on the shelf and decided to pick it up. Overall, a great movie.

This depiction of the 54th Mass and their rise to the assault on Battery Wagner tells a story that all should know. A few artistic license points do not detract from the real story of the rise of black Americans in defense of their country and in the fight against slavery
