Excellent game! Great visuals, awesome storyline and great gameplay. And to top it off the PS5 update(visual) is excellent! If you haven't already played this game now is the time to jump into it! A+!

Such a good game. Rebuilt from the ground up. Game director had to convince Sony to shell out the money for this. I imagine 150ish million. Stellar reviews, and good actually great sales for it. Not a remake/remaster. A brand new one in the series.

Amazing game! So addictive, amazing combat, love the armor options. Reminds me a lot of the Joel/Ellie combo and relationship from The Last of Us! Memorable game, still haven’t reached 100% on completion! It’ll take some time!

I purchased this game soon after release, having been a huge fan of the series since I was young. A great story, excellent mechanics and more strategy than I was expecting, but it made things even better. Do yourself a favor and go out and buy this ASAP

This game is pretty good. It's a fresh take on a game that really doesn't fit into today's market. But this game was in development long enough that I really expected more polish. There's lots of weird graphical glitches, strange (or a complete lack of) combat feedback, and poor art assets in some major areas. (For instance, caves are completely gray inside. Very boring. Why they didn't put some gorgeous veins of ore throughout to beautify the game a bit is a mystery to me.) But there are enough good points to the game that it is redeemed. It's a solid play.

Kratos is back, and he's a dad (again)!
God of War is a spectacular experience from start to finish, encapsuling everything a masterpiece in video games should be, graphically, in game play, and especially in plot. If you own a PS4, do not miss this.

I really don't like the direction some games are going. Developers think players want an interactive movie (maybe some do), while some just want to play a game. Most game companies seem to be just concentrating on the best looking game they can make, and not the best playing. Unfortunately, I think this game spends too much time trying to be graphically impressive at the cost of gameplay.
GOW feels like an interactive movie. There are even times you think you are controlling the character and suddenly find you are not. What makes it worse is you can't even (from what I could tell) skip these cut scenes. I really don't want to spend my gaming time watching cut scenes.
Combat is still fun, though having the camera stuck on your character can be annoying at times -- Unlike the old GOW where you had more of the top down view. And having to tell the son to shoot his arrows becomes tedious the further you progress. Overall, I felt the combat in the old GOW games was handled much better.
Regardless, fans of the old GOW may be turned off by the new direction this franchise is heading. I for one will not purchase a sequel to this -- unless they go back to the old engine. The game also seemed very short -- but I actually welcomed this because by the time you reach the end, you pretty much have experienced everything you want to experience and dragging it out more would just make it monotonous.
So, whether you should purchase this game comes down to what is important to you. If you want to feel like you are controlling a character (at times) in a movie, you should like this game. If you are like me and prefer to have total control over your character and want to feel like you are playing a game, you probably won't enjoy this game.

Everything from the graphics to the story is amazing. Challenging and fun to play at the same time. Gameplay is smooth, Graphics are superb, I had one instance where the game got choppy but other than that no issues. A must have purchase if your a fan.

Fantastic game, great atmosphere and combat mechanics. Really love the PS5 upgrade as well. If you’re into story driven games with a lot of action God of War is right for you

You will lose time, isolate yourself from others, catch yourself saying things you hear in the game without intention. You will be entering a cult without realizing the initiation has taken place. This game is highly addictive once you get an hour in.

The visuals in this game are beautiful and the storyline is fun to follow. This game received a next gen upgrade on the PS5, so it's worth playing if you're on the PS4 or PS5.

Superb Gameplay different than the previous games bigger and better in every way. Puzzles are much more challenging but with Atreus at his side makes it much more interesting whether you have played the games in the past or not everyone will love it.

I have been a fan of the God Of War franchise from the beginning. This game basically redefines the series and actually improves upon it in every way. If you are already a fan of GOW, this is a must buy. If you have never tried GOW, this is a must buy.

I recommend playing the old God of war games before playing this one to get the full experience but even if you haven't played the old one I still say that this is new player friendly and should not be missed by any PS4 owner

I can’t even articulate just how perfect this game is. It’s everything you love about God of War previously while opening up a whole new chapter and pantheon for you to engage with. The addition of Atreus truly makes this a unique and beautiful story.

This game has it all, great visuals, fun combat, amazing soundtrack, and great character interactions. Very different from the originals, but still an amazing game.
