One of the best games ever made. You don't need to play any of the other GoW games to enjoy this one since it moves to a completely different scenario away from the Greek gods. Do yourself a favor and play it in HDR with a PS4 Pro, the graphics are some of the best ever produced to date. Story, combat, music, graphics and voice acting is all too notch.

I was skeptical of a new God of War game. I thought the previous entries were more than enough. Luckily this latest installment exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed the story and didn’t find it to be a “babysitting” experience like people thought it would be. And was a big fan of the more deliberate combat. Only thing I would want would be a few more boss fights but the Valkyries were a good enough alternative.

Boy. Prepare yourself. This is a sweet twist on the God Of War series. As Kratos's story takes him to Midgard. Sweet new weapons and enemies. Thorough plot. Over 70 hours of game play enough for even the most hardcore gamers to sink their teeth into. Will you travel the nine realms?

This is my first time playing the God of War series and I absolutely love it. Ive been told that it’s not like the previous God of War’s but when it comes to back story you can learn a good bit from previous games in this one so you’re not “in the dark” if you start with this one. The cinematics are amazing and the gameplay is really smooth as well! Overall, it will definitely keep you busy for at least a week if you’re a non-stop gamer.

I was never the biggest God of War fan. Played them all but hack and slash not my favorite gameplay and I never found Kratos a compelling character. One dimensional and brutal. All I can say now is that I am glad to have played the original trilogy to compare me to the utter redesign and redirection of this title. Having spent that time with a character I didn't like makes following this tale of the same person so much deeper. The same can be said for the gameplay. And a sidekick that isn't completely annoying! The way Kratos has been taken from Greek mythology and placed within Norse is a nice change. While the game is still brutal and there's a lot of slashing the combat is much more robust for a player like me. It's a game that took a big risk but in doing so I think will retain old fans of God of War and welcomes new players with a compelling story and gameplay.

This game is a technological benchmark for video games. The sheer scope of everything and the detail of every aspect of the game is simply unbelievable. While the game does take a while to really pick up, I appreciate the focus on story in the first half or so of the game. The game has some of the craziest and best scenes in the second half which more than make up for the slow start. Anyone who owns a PS4 needs to experience this game.

I was skeptical when this game was announced but I have been proven wrong. This game is so amazing. The gameplay and combat is so fluid, the story is so good at sucking you in and staying great throughout, and there are no loading scenes in the whole time (it was all done in a one shot). Can not say enough good things about the game, they also did really well at the open world concept where there isnt so much content it is overwhelming

I initially rented this game, expecting it to be like the previous installments. I realized after 25 hours of play time that I was completely wrong. I waited for a good sale at Bestbuy to pick it up again and couldn't be happier. You will not be disappointed. The gameplay is smooth, graphics are amazing on PS4 Pro (there is a noticeable difference to me between framerate and graphics settings) and the story is great.

When I finished God of War 3, I didn't know how the story could continue. I had hoped we got more games but from a narrative standpoint, I didn't know where it could go. Well, Kratos now tackles Norse mythology and it is awesome. I initially was worried that we would have to babysit his son but I didn't find it a chore. The game is still fast and fluid and it looks incredible. Definitely one of my favorite games this year.

The god of war story continues! The story is so deep and good and the single player campaign is perfect. Love the open world mechanics that you can do for hours. I highly recommend this game if you played the first games. You wont regret it. The music is good and the graphics practically look real.

I only played a few hours of the first God of War and never got into the others. This entry into the series seemed a lot more interesting and compelling to play. I have to say that whatever minor issues I have with the game are overshadowed by the fun and interest that I get from playing it. If you're on the fence, rent it first before buying, but I'm sure that most people that like action adventure games will enjoy God of War.

God of War fans were getting weary and put off by the well worn gameplay and totally stale story of the last few Kratos centered games. This welcomed God of War reboot brings a real reworking of the gameplay mechanics and story environment while keeping much of the expected character archetypes and story paths you associate with the franchise. A great PS4 exclusive that is a must play for this console generation.

As a fan of the original trilogy, and also the entries of the PSP/Vita days, I honestly had so many questions regarding this most recent entry. I had hoped this game would be good, but I didn't expect it to be this great. It's definitely stellar how they've expanded what Kratos is capable of and how immersive this storyline is compared to previous entries. I won't give any spoilers away, but I will say that you should play it!

Great story line, graphics are amazing, and the action is intense. I highly recommend this game.

I've been an avid fan of the God of War series for since the original. And having the series come to the PS4 has been amazing. Not only is the visuals of the game in great detail, but it is also followed up with an amazing story with an interaction between Kratos and his son an experience that I will never forget as a father with my own son. If you are just a fan of videogames in general, this game needs to be in your library.

This is hands down the best game I've played in 2018. The gameplay, the artistic design, the story, the characters - everything delivers. God of War is a true showpiece of everything modern video games have become. Indeed, it's a pinnacle achievement for entertainment generally. This game shouldn't be missed by any Playstation owners, and should be strongly considered by those without the console to consider purchasing one.

I have played every other game in the God of War Series and this one did not disappoint at all. There is so much to explore and find in this game. The Story is Great and the action is so Satisfying. I would recommend this game to anyone who loves a Good story and Great Visuals. If the popular shooters are getting a little repetitive try picking up God of War... you will not regret it. Its a must have for your PS4 collection.

Take all you knew about Kratos as a 1 dimensional that was only filled with rage and toss it out the window. This is a Kratos who fulfilled his mission to kill all the Greek gods. Now we see an older, wiser and different side to Kratos. He and his son are on a mission, and Kratos must prepare his son to be a man, and in the process the son must teach Kratos how to be a father again. It's a must play game, the best GOW by far.
