They have finally made us car about Kratos after so many games in this series! The action is a bit different, but now it's thoughtful instead of a button/combo masher. Great story so far, and the first Real boss fight is something to behold. Can't wait to see it all the way through!

I have enjoyed playing this game, though at times the customization system can be pretty complex and hard to keep up with. The graphics, story, and action are great though.

I waited to buy this game. because I figured it was just another in the God of War series. It is not. It is something much greater. This was one of the most visually stunning games I have ever played. The story was excellent. It felt more like playing a movie than a game.

God of War is a great game to revitalize the franchise. I enjoyed playing the previous games, but I did not think they were the best game out there. They were enjoyable and had an interesting subject matter, but they were mainly meant for the combat. God of War has an intriguing plot line and involves a father-son dynamic which is unlike any other God of War game. Gameplay-wise, the controls and fluidity of combat are well done. The graphics are amazing and I am being challenged with the various difficulty settings. I would recommend this to a friend, although I would not rate it as highly as others (10/10 or 5/5).

As if you needed more reasons to buy a playstation. This game is fantastic! Amazing story telling, super fun action, clever puzzles and skill building. This game has it all. Oh and some of the best graphics you've ever seen.

Finished this game, played all the other GoW games and this is by far my favorite. Kratos is a much more developed and complex character, the story carries a greater emotional weight, and the combat is seriously satisfying. Great game!

I never played more than one level of a God of War game before this, but you don't need to. The story is involving and the combat is really second to none. I can't imagine someone not having a good time for the 30-40 hours it takes to beat the campaign.

It's incredible. It's quite detached from the God of War you may know or love in terms of the actual combat mechanics, but it is 100% still God of War in the violence and brutality of the world. The story is fantastic and the world is so engrossing.. the graphics simply profound.

This a vastly different game from the previous ones in the series, it plays more like Dark Souls and is more story driven then the other hack and slash games in the past. The visuals are amazing and the game play is tight. Definitely worth the current price of the game.

Everything about this game was off the charts. The story, the lore, the graphics, the gameplay. Plus, The new mechanics were very refreshing; so smooth and gratifying once you get a good grip on it's controls. This game is a definite must have for any PlayStation owner

I loved the God of War games when I was growing up and I was excited to see a reboot done to the series, but was wondering how it would be approached in this era. They have done an absolutely amazing job with this game, if you have not played it yet, it is worth picking up, especially at the PlayStation hits price. The game has a much more mature tone while addressing the dynamics of father and son relationship as they progress through the game. But if you loved the hack and slash aspects of the old games, you will not be let down here either. The weapons are very well done, and fun to use, plus you learn to integrate your sons bow into your combat style.

Didn't know how I'd feel about this one - it's even tougher to give you guys a review without giving too much away. :) Let's just say, there were some surprises I found very enjoyable within the game and my kind of humor when speaking with the NPCs. The game itself looks gorgeous and I thought the story line was excellent. I did find it a little repetitive at times - not grindy - but not substantially deep with different things to do - typical GoW game, frankly. Absolutely worth playing though and kept true to the gameplay of the originals. Highly recommended, if you have the scratch laying around...

This is a fantastic addition to the existing series. I wasn’t sure of the story line when I first picked it up but as the story progressed it did not disappoint. All in all the graphics, story fighting and the added customization make this game in my option a “Must Have!”

Possible game of the year candidate. I have yet to finish the game, but the 14 hours I have put into it so far have been the best hours I have spent on a game all year. The no-cut camera, fluid combat, fantastic visuals, and impressive story all add up to an amazing experience.

This game is a masterpiece. I have never used that word for any other game (not even LoU). The gameplay is completely different from the previous "saga". Your main weapon is an axe. You don't really get another weapon like in previous games. You do have a sidekick, your son, which u can control to some extent. Combos are simple but once you get the grasp of it, you can make so much more The story is great. If you played the previous games you know who kratos is. If you haven't, the story gives hints to his past and it will give you a good idea. And his relationship with his son is great. You can see it progress and evolve. Ever since I started playing, I can't get enough. Finding pieces of lore, learning about Norse mythology, visiting the 9 realms, everything is amazing. The best part about this, it's like a movie. There are no loading screens. It just one seamless story. It just goes on and it's hard to put it down.

The newest installment in the God of War series is the best. The changes to the gameplay are welcome and don't feel forced or make it a different game altogether. The story and bond between the characters is great, with plenty of twists and jaw-dropping moments. Simply amazing!

I haven't been hooked on a game in quite some time, but this one certainly has me. It is a stunning game visually and the mechanics and gameplay are top notch. Paired with a great story line and outstanding voice acting, this is easily one of the best games I have ever played.

Great graphics, sounds, gameplay. And an unparalleled story. The combat take some learning but rewards a small amount of patience with fun play where you can see yourself improve without being overly frustrating (if you are going crazy, drop a difficulty level). Love the game.

Probably one of the best PS4 exclusives as of yet. Do yourself the favor of buying this game. The story is solid, the acting is solid, and the combat is good too. I was never a huge fan of the original trilogy but I’ll probably be following Kratos’ journey from here on out.
