This game is awesome! If you haven't played it yet, DO IT NOW! This really is one of the BEST games on ps4 and hands down the BEST God of War game. It has a GREAT story and amazingly addictive gameplay.

It’s the perfect game to have in the library for when a group of friends come over and you want to play something that’s simple, fun, and can be comfortably finished in a single sitting. It does admittedly play it pretty safe with its level design, and as a result there is some tedium that creeps in towards the tail end of the campaign or a single sitting arcade mode run, but these shortcomings are for the most smoothed over thanks to fun combat, a charming and nostalgic pixel aesthetic, and one of the best soundtracks of the year so far.

This game is a once in a generation type of experience. You shouldn't miss out. Not only does it have an immersive, well thought out world and story, but the gameplay is so intuitive and it never gets old to play and combo attacks/ abilities.

If you have ever played any of the God of War games, then this a must buy. Even if you haven't, you should. This game is beautiful and the gameplay is amazing. There is so much to do other than just the story. Take a chance and get this game!

I was not really a fan of the old God of war games. I didn't like camera view and the hit or miss platforming. This God of war is like a completely different game. Stunning graphics, amazing combat, & great story

I wasnt hyped for this game but once i spent an hour with it, i am hooked. Best game i have played this generation. It brings you back to the old days where all you want to do is play it. Graphics, gameplay, story.. it has everything. Get it.

This game truly changes the God of War landscape. It captures the imagination with a wonderful story and beautiful landscapes. The gameplayis also thoughtful and gives the player the control and decision making ability that just feels right.

It's very different than the previous god of war games. I enjoy the new mechanics and the over the shoulder point of view. It makes you feel more innocent and the action is more intense. The story is compelling and the gameplay is intuitive.

Not only one of the best games of the year when it came out, but I’d consider it one of the best games ever! Brutal, challenging, witty and entertaining...Kratos and son KILL in the best ways!

Or...actually it's not, but that might lead into some spoilers. I've only played a few of the other GoW games on the PS3 and found them boring and repetitive, but this game was amazing. Consider this a total reworking of Kratos as a character and God of War as a game. This game is absolutely nothing like the original series on the PS3 and will absolutely get you hooked in a matter of hours. I completed the main story line + most of the side missions in about 35 hours, but there was still plenty more to do for those who like their Platinums out there. If you like Tomb Raider/Uncharted then you'd probably really enjoy this rendition of God of War. If you haven't played the other games, no worries, you don't need to in order to enjoy the story told in this game. Overall, this game is worthy of 5 stars in my book.

Defiantly a contender for Game of the year. I was skeptical at first once they showed Game play because it was different from previous god of war games but they proved everyone wrong. Amazing game and story. Even better on a PS4 Pro

Loved this game so much. The story was extremely well crafted and interesting. Gameplay is fun and challenging. Fantastic cut scenes. Definitely looking forward to a second play through.

Hands down, this is the best God of War to date. I have never been amazed on the game play and graphics. So real and the story line is easy to follow. It gets challenging but over all this is a must have for all God of War enthusiasts!

For starters, it is easily the best looking game on the PS4 PRO. The narrative of the story is top notch, the gameplay, the fluidity of how everything comes together is just something to appreciate. Who said single player games were dead?!

The game is great ...great graphics, storyline,action wow...I hadn't played a game this good in so long...The change in gameplay felt so comftable not to many glitches or delays...Santa Monica did a awesome job and well worth the wait...

My only gripe, if you can call that is that I miss T.C Carson. Christopher isn't bad I just wish Carson could've finished the series. But overall I loved this game, great graphics and story as usual can't wait to see what's next.

At the end of the day, for me, "GAME PLAY" is what wins me over. The graphics on GOW are impressive, stunning and at times down right amazing with detail. BUT, no matter how good a game may look if it doesn't play well or offers a lack luster story/objectives then I'll lose interest. GOW has, in my opinion a powerful blend of smooth game play, powerful graphics and an intriguing story. Which leads to one more important milestone for me with games and that is "replay value". I'm not some Playstation fanboy, been gaming for 33 years. So, I can honestly say, GOW did an excellent job at providing smooth game play, gorgeous graphics and a new twist on the story line. It isn't the same old game GOW with updated graphics. Which is nice. This is definitely worthy of your money and a fine addition to any game collection.

I've played the previous God of War games, but when I picked this up I read it would be a brand new experience. It certainly was. I've enjoyed the combo-heavy smash-em-up game play that the series used to be known for, but now the slower, more strategic pace gives rise to a more fulfilling game play experience. It feels more like an adventure, driven by story, than just a blood-fest. Been playing it since day one, basically, and taking a step at a time to really enjoy the journey. Loving it so far! Of course, all the tech is in place; if you have a 4k TV, you'll thank yourself for picking this up. Definitely one of the best looking games out there. Even if you don't have 4k but own a PS4, this is a must-buy for the collection. I'm sure the DLC stuff will come later, but the base game is worth it on its own.

This was such a well made game. Same God of War feel and story intensity that we all love. They did such a great job and really revamped the series with this one. I've played through and !00% cleared the game, super worth getting.
