God of War (2018) is a continuation of the series of the same name from the era of the PlayStation 2 and 3, but knowledge of the past games is not required to enjoy this newest entry. The game is a combat heavy action-rpg that takes place in a world of Norse mythology and follows the story of Kratos and his son Atreus as they go on a journey to complete the last request of their recently departed wife and mother. Over the course of the adventure, you'll craft and upgrade armor, explore a somewhat open world, and bump into the friends and family of the Norse pantheon. The thread tying all of the elements together is the emotional journey between Kratos and his son, it is an amazingly written and emotional tale that will have you clamoring for a sequel as soon as you're done.

GoW has always been a great series and this game will not disappoint. It is as visually stunning as always., couple that with a progression of the story, and gameplay from previous installments, you will love it.

This game hit me in the feels, provided amazing gameplay, and totally surpassed my expectations even though it was hyped to death. If you are even remotely curious about this game, buy it now; you won't be disappointed.

Believe all the hype. This game is wonderful. A master class in cinematic action game design. A resonating story, fleshed out and developing characters, and tight, deliberate combat make this one of the best games on the PS4.

I used to love the old God of War games, but was skeptical seeing this come out. After reading some positive reviews, I caved and bought it. I'm so glad I did...it's an amazing experience that draws you in. Go out and buy it.

This is an amazing continuation of the God Of War series. Controls are tight and graphics are epic. The fighting system is easy to pick-up but has a ton of depth. It is easily one of the best games of this console generation.

I've been blown away by this game. The story, graphics and gameplay are all top notch. It's a completely new direction for the franchise but it does retain a few elements that make it feel like God of War. Highly recommended.

The guys at Santa Monica did an amazing job and creating a new GOW that is fun to play and more than the hack and slash it used to be. Combat is complex and the story leaves you wanting more through each setting. Great game.

One of the best story/character driven video games of all time, ranking right up there with The Last of Us and The Witcher 3. A magnificent reinvention of the GoW franchise. I couldn't stop playing. Highly recommend.

This is one of the coolest games I've ever played. Looks fantastic, compelling story, gameplay has the right amount of challenge. And for a mythology buff like me, the setting is very fun.

The best PlayStation 4 exclusive I've ever played! You need to play it! It's an experience everyone needs to have! Beautiful graphics easily immerse you in the gameplay as well. The story is top notch! I could go on and on!

I wasn't a fan of the originals but this game takes the best of them and adds so much more. From Chris Judge's performance, to the story, game play, and cinematic score, this game is amazing!

I bought this in the black friday for my boyfriend... it was a very excellent and incredible price... and my boyfriend says that is one of the most difficult games that he had play but he loves it

Definitely not your typical God of War game but the same amount of enjoyment. If you are a fan of the series or a first time player, I would definitely recommend this. Also can't beat the price.

Best of 2018. The game is gorgeous and the story is amazing. The characters are dynamic and deep and the combat is intoxicating. Each attack move plays perfectly in to the next and everything feels incredibly fluid.

God of war is a game that continues on the story of the God of war trilogy from the PlayStation 2. This game is one of the best of the year and can contend with game of the year. The production quality of this game are top notch and is paired with a Mature and well thought out story that I think everyone should experience. One of the greatest things about God of war is that it's a complete package. No dlc or sections of the game being separated so they can be sold later. This is how games used to be, when you bought the game you got everything it entails. The industry needs more games like this rather than those multiplayer live services models that try to get more money out of the customer before delivering what was promised.

If you played God of War before, get ready to be blown away. Great story, visuals and progression. Get this and catch up on the story before the new one comes out next year.
