I love the changes they’ve made to the dynamic of the game. It’s a breath of fresh air. It is a lot different than the old button mashing GOW games. Action packed awesome story also.

This is by far the most engrossing and interesting PS4 game with a story driven narrative I've played yet. I am constantly interesting in the mythology and dialogue sequences about this game and I rarely feel as if I run into a scenario where I have to look up how to do something as the game naturally leads you towards solving various puzzles and challenges. Although not open world, I think I prefer a non-open world approach to help maintain focus on the story and keep the progression simple. (A problem I had with Horizon Zero Dawn and Fallout 4) The combat system is incredible and 25+ hours in, I am still floored to engage in even minor enemy combat.

Great game for a great price. Certainly one of the better games on the year.

God of War is an amazing reimagining for the series and a perfect soft-reboot just when the series needed it. After a long series of action games, the standard GOW formula was getting sort of tiresome. But this new game? WOW. First off visually, it's amazing. The game never cuts its camera shot on the entire game stays in one continuous shot. It sounds like a simple thing, but in execution it's extremely unique and gives the game a special feel to it. Combat-wise, it's much more open and setting-wise, it's huge. This is also a game that deserves to be played on a 4K TV and PS4 Pro and really justifies the upgrade. I'd recommend this 100% to any gamer.

The drastic changes made to this God of War sequel/reboot are all for the better and made it my favorite entry in the series to date. It is a fantastic game that is nearly perfect.

This truly deserves its Game of the Year recognition it got in 2018. It's graphic details along with the immense story it presents makes up a very impressive game. I'm not a big single-player gamer myself, but it has definitely exceeded my expectations. God of War should no doubt be on top of your list if you're just getting a PS4 console and contemplating on which games to get first.

This game caught me off guard. Takes a while to get used to all the new mechanics and armor/upgrade systems but man is it addicting. One of the best stories in video gaming.

Have been waiting for this game since the reveal two years ago. It did not disappoint. Awesome how they took God of War in this new direction. Glad they won Game of the Year.

Fluid gameplay and a wonderful storyline. Even for someone who knew nothing if this going in it was easy to get caught up in the story.

This is an amazing game and a visual treat! Its a great addition to the God Of War franchise and is just what any hardcore GOW fan would expect from a next generation platform experience. The game-play is fluid and stunning though it takes a little bit of time to get used to coming from the older game's camera angles and game-play. The graphics are amazing and very fluid, not to mention some of the best graphics on this generation of consoles i have seen in some time. The attention to detail, the realism of the mechanics, and the single player 3rd person experience makes this a must have game for anyone with a Playstation 4.

I have been waiting for this release from the first rumored date. I played it on Day 1 and it did not disappoint. Graphics are good, gameplay is different from prior entries in the series (but makes the game its own). One of the features that I enjoy about this game is that it is somewhat open (if you cannot go somewhere, the game does not allow you to go) and it is non-linear when it allows for some open exploration. A great game and sits up there with the other PS4 exclusives released in the past 2 years (Uncharted 4, Uncharted Lost Legacy, Horizon: Zero Dawn). I like the older Kratos, now realizing the errors of his earlier sins. GET THIS GAME!

Amazing game with a great story. I never played any of the previous games in the series but I never felt I needed to. Great gameplay, great story, I would highly recommend this game.

One of the top PS4 games. Very immersive, great story, crisp controls on combat, awesome graphics, relatively quick load times, no lagging, intuitive interface. No major complaints about the game. I got the game on the release date, have played daily since then, and have not experienced any crashing or bugs. Ironically, there have been small updates each day, which I take as a good thing. Meaning, they are fixing issues promptly. Having a lot of fun with the game. Enjoying it a lot. Has a good balance of combat, puzzles, and exploring. Not a complete free world for roaming, but within each section you can pretty much free roam, which works for me.

This game is everything that is awesome about this franchise. I love it, same feel as the old classics but instead of Greek mythology it has Norse mythology which is just as awesome.

I haven’t had a chance to play all the way though but so far it has been high octane fun. Story is very strong and characters are well designed. Beautiful graphically too. Great game

I've never been a fan of God of War. In fact I disliked all the ones previously. But this one is great. I live all the things in it. The openness. The story. The graphics. Beautiful.
