GOW is seriously fun! Like its predecessors, it's about button mashing and watching Kratos blow through bad guys. But this time, he has his son helping him out. The kid is pretty helpful at times, but what makes it amusing is how Kratos interacts with him. It's a lot of tough love. The graphics are great and the controls are super smooth. It's a great addition to the family of GOW games.

God of war is one of if not the best game on ps4 right now, this game has it all; great story that will keep you wanting to know what is next, amazing gameplay that will keep you on your toes and strategizing against the strongest opponents. This game also has the best graphics on ps4, great music and last but not least wonderful characters that will make you care and want to listen to their stories.

This game is by far the best God of War game in it's franchise. The game play and story is absolutely excellent. My one and only minor fault of the game is, not finding out when I started the game that I could switch and use the classic button pattern. By the time I figured that out, I was already used to the new button pattern. Overall, just a great freak'n game!!!! I highly recommend this game!!!!

One of the best games ever made. You don't need to play any of the other GoW games to enjoy this one since it moves to a completely different scenario away from the Greek gods. Do yourself a favor and play it in HDR with a PS4 Pro, the graphics are some of the best ever produced to date. Story, combat, music, graphics and voice acting is all too notch.

Never thought I’d start a God of War review talking about the story, but this is easily one of my favorite video game stories of all time. Poignant moments between a flawed father and son make both more human and relatable. Combat is less button mashing and more skilled than previous series entries. Didn’t want the game to end even after getting the platinum trophy. Highly recommended!

I had my reservations going into the new God of War. New setting, new over the shoulder camera, "RPG" elements, Dark Souls-like combat comparisons; nothing sounded like what I came to God of War for. However, after getting my hands on the game, I couldn't put it down. The story is intriguing, the combat is gripping, and Kratos is cool as ever. A definite must-play for any PS4 owner.

More Assassin's Creed than classical God of War. Kratos is older, wiser, but still insanely strong and capable of violence. He has slowed down for the sake of his child, but still demands high performance. The world and story are very interesting, and combat is definitely there, but it isn't as insane as the older titles.

Man, God of War blew me away. I was a fan of the previous games in the series but this new game really set the bar high. The storytelling is a lot stronger in this game, similar to the quality you would expect from Naughty Dog games (The Last of Us/Uncharted). The graphics are insane! It's a beautiful looking game and the combat system is really fun to master. Must-own game for PS4 players!

Whether you are new to the series or a long-standing fan of the franchise, this game is sure to please. It has a top-notch presentation that includes a great story rich in lore, hardcore action to satisfy most tastes, and characters you won’t soon forget. This game might not be for everyone, but I can guarantee that anyone who tries it will have to at least give it the respect it deserves.

Game is very well made. Has a fun story and challenging at times.

I don’t review games, but this one is worth the few minutes. The graphics are good, but the story is great. Not just a button smasher and not really role playing game either. My wife HATES video games for the most part, but she really enjoyed the story on this (as she overheard from typing on her iPad). Game has replay value and there are ton of this to accomplish besides the storyline.

I got this game at launch and I still think about it all the time. One of the best action games I have ever played, with an amazing and sincere story. If you have a ps4 and haven’t played this yet do yourself a favor and play it. I also gave this as a gift to my little brother and he loved it as well. So either for yourself or as a gift you can’t go wrong.

Will definitely be Game of the Year. The story is amazing, you really feel for the characters and the bond between father and son. The action is a mix between old hack and slash God of War and Devil May Cry guys mixed in with more open world and RPG elements from Zelda and Darksiders and some combat that even resembles Dark Souls. If you're a fan of adventure games definitely a must play

I bought a 2nd copy of this for my stepson to play. Normally I would just give him the game after I was done but I'm keeping this one. Game of the year for a reason - great visuals, excellent story and voice acting, single player, online/microtransaction free. It is most importantly a fun game to play. The feel of Kratos' axe on the controller is amazing.

This is a great addition to my RPG games. It has a solid story, beautiful visuals and exciting game-play. I enjoy the mix of puzzles and action; and I especially appreciate the ability to downshift to an easier play-mode during the course of the game. It helps getting out of those tight battles a little easier. The depth and complexity of the visuals are really, at times, breath-taking.

The game play in the new GOW game is great. It’s a departure from the Original hack and slash kratos we all know and love. But it’s a perfect step forward for the franchise. I love that the story isn’t a reboot but a continuation of all the games before it. And the story itself is engaging and phenomenal. Cannot wait for sequel.
