God of War is another modern example of how linear level design can thrive in the age of open world games. It's a lot of fun and a surprisingly engaging and emotional story on top of the gameplay that is only enriched by the off the beaten path searchables and lore that hide in all corners of the clever level designs.

God of War takes a character that was hard to relate to in Kratos, and takes a fresh approach to the character. A new setting, a new pantheon, and a new dynamic for the series helps breathe life and depth into Kratos. This game is gorgeous, and fun to play. The combat has weight and is satisfying to execute, and the story is intriguing, and worth savoring. The game is meaty, with plenty of open areas and side activities to help broaden the experience, without feeling like filler. While having played the rest of the series has added benefits to understanding the tragic history of the character, this game also works as a fresh start for newcomers, and easily sits with Horizon, and Uncharted 4/The Lost Legacy as a top tier, must have PS4 game.

Fun story. I love GOW and it is a different game play than the GOW of old. Cool story and much longer than expected from an adventure games with about 50hrs+ to complete it.

The game is slow in the begining but picks up fast! Im not particular for going around and getting everything you can (I just dont have time for it). Im about halfway through it and really enjoy the game play! My only complaint is that bosses take way too long to kill and regular characters are to simple to kill, just a little unbalanced.

Having been a fan of the games since the first, and original God of War game, I thought (like everyone else), that the last game, was the last game. But after years of silence, when they announced a new God of War, continuing Kratos' story as an older, wiser, more restrained demi-god (with A LOT of effort lol), in a new mythological land... I couldn't have been more excited! And this game does NOT disappoint. It's all there: the beautiful lands and locales, new gods and monsters, puzzles, and combat. And now we have rpg elements', his young son on the journey with him, and a mysterious story weaved in. It's a big, fun game, as usual and I highly recommend it. Oh, and the case artwork is reversible! The art on the other side is gorgeous! ☺

God of War is a great. It balances gameplay, story and exploration in an excellent way. I wasn't much a fan of the older God of War games, but this one instantly caught my eye. There's plenty to do for those who are completionists, and mechanics that will keep you coming back for more. It's a must own PS4 game.

I saw the E3 coverage last year and was interested but never played any others. Then when my friends mentioned how good it was I tried it out myself. The story is something else. It grabs you and doesn’t let go until the end. The gameplay is super smooth and the quality of graphics is beyond real. Definitely recommend this to everyone

Hands down this game is in my top three best PS4 games I've ever played. Great gameplay, interesting story that keeps you engaged in a huge detailed and diverse world. One of the few games I'll ever go back and complete the story mode again. Didn't even play every God of War prior and didn't affect how much I enjoyed this game.

Bought this game day one and it was amazing. I didn’t think we would see another God of War after the 3rd game, so when this was announced my mind was blown. I love what they did with this game. The environment is huge and the story was incredible. Can’t wait for the next game.

This is the best game i’ve played in 2018. Top 10 of all time. excellent story and gameplay, graphics are top and the game was the perfect length. What you will get. single player story driven 3rd person adventure. Equal amount puzzles and combat. 30 hours of game, more or less depending on play style. complete voice acting.

Excellent game, super fun to play. If you're fan of the series from previous titles, you'll probably enjoy the heck out of this one. It's a little bit different but the game play still feels familiar and the story is just too good. It was hard to put the controller down, didn't think I'd enjoy it as much, but it was great

I enjoyed the game thoroughly and beat it. It kept my attention and had a lot to do but wasn’t too overwhelming. He had a great story plot as well and took skill it wasn’t super easy but wasn’t so difficult you get frustrated and quit. It’s a great game should buy it if peeked you’re interest.

I'm only about half way through this game but I am in awe how seamless this game is - the music, story, gameplay are so beaufully meshed in a way that hasn't been done in a game before. Just when you thought games pushed the envelope of art to the limit, along like this game comes along and blows everything else out of the water.

I waited too long to play this game. I had read all of the great reviews but kept putting it off. Could not put this game down once I started. Great story, the graphics are amazing, and the gameplay is some of the best action style I've ever played.

Hack and slash galore no more! Before it was just barreling through enemies and drowning in their blood. Now you get to barrel through enemies, drown in their blood, and enjoy a more cinematic approach to telling Kratos’ story. This game is 11/10!

Fantastic story, gameplay, graphics, art direction, and world design. This is a complete system seller. I recommend this to anyone that enjoys the best of the best. It's a masterpiece to say the least. The hype is real and not exaggerated. I'm serious. Buy this now. Stop reading this. Seriously, just go and buy this game.

God of War in every iteration has always pushed the visuals of the Playstation console but this one WHOA! Totally different gameplay mechanics and "partner" made this an evolution in this series. I was not happy with the thought of Kratos being "handicapped" by a child in the game but the way it all comes together is EXCELLENT!

This game is amazing in every way the story is amazing, the fighting style of the game is perfection, the graphics on this game is beyond Plus ultra!! This is a game every PS4 owner should have it’s such a good game and it really pulls you into the story and it’s overall a great game actually the best game of 2018!!!

If you like action games, exploration, beautiful landscapes, engaging characters, fun combat, and good mechanics, then you'll like this game. It's top notch from start to finish. Anybody can beat it, but there are some added challenges not for the average gamer. Very happy with this game. It's beautiful to just look at.
