My expectations were low considering I was growing tired of this series. Man, did they reinvent this game. So good, great graphics story and gameplay.

Kratos has never looked or sounded better, and having him have to interact with his son is awesome. Higher recommend. The story is great too.

God Of War is a game that I can play over and over and over again. I will never get rid of it and I’m waiting on the part two.

This game is a lot of fun. I had hours of fun on it. The graphics and story line are fun. It has been a blast.

Retaining all the positives of previous titles in the series and adding a rich father and son storyline to the mix. Beautiful graphics are also a plus.

God of War was a blast from the very start! The numerous areas were stunning to see as the story progressed and the cut-scenes were very clean.

Played every GOW game and this one not only raises the bar, it reinvented the series and made it feel new and fresh. If this was the first God of War game I've ever played I would have still been blown away. Visuals are amazing and the gameplay is on par but those are the visuals. The voice acting is also worth mentioning as this aspect is something that Santa Monica has always been great at. I will end this by saying this title is one of Sony's best marvels to date and will go down in the history books as one of their best exclusives for PS4! God of War 9/10

Satisfying gameplay and story. Went into it thinking it was overhyped, but I once it clicked, I was all in. One of my platinum trophies.

God of war is an excellent single player game (no MP). I love the story, the characters, and the gameplay is fantastic.

God of war is god of games. An amazing story with amazing graphics. This is by far one of the most beautiful and intense games I have played in a while.

This game is everything the hype romises it to be. We return to the story of Kratos long after his defeat of the Olympians. The game starts with the death of his wife and his journey to fulfill her dying wish. The old game were known for the over the top violence, definitely some gory deaths are still present. The focus and what really shines through is the story. Too many game these days completely ignore a story element to it. This game delivers a dramatic, heart warming narrative that I haven’t seen in years. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

This is one of the best games of the year. The controls are tight & its the best God of War to date. This is a must buy & play if you are a PS4 owner.

This game is truly unbelievable. It's amazing what they're able to do with this aging hardware. You'll be hard pressed to find a better game anywhere.

You know I will admit right from the start that I may not have played the game long enough yet to give it a fair review, perhaps it does live up to the hype and deserve a 5 Star rating like so many other reviews and critics state. I am sure the game is really great, and I know that it has gotten a lot of acknowledgement, but the reason I give it only 4 Stars for me personally is because I test every single new game out that I purchase with my 60 Year old Parents to see if they are interested in it because if they are then we usually play the game together and watch the stories unfold. Most games they seem to really enjoy, examples I could bring up would be Uncharted 4, GTA 5, Detroit Become Human, Shadow of Collosus, Horizon Zero Dawn.. all of those games captured their attention as an audience, but God of War they were bored of within the first 20min. The Graphics are amazingly stunning, the gameplay is visually compelling, but for some reason whether it be the story or the combat (which I also found to be a bit annoying and clunky) it just didn't draw us in as much as I thought it was going to.. so this review is based on just the first 20min of God of War, perhaps the rest of the game is amazing and deserves 5 Stars but the first 20min didn't compete with many other great games that I have played before.

Amazing game. Looks terrific, could not put the controller. Outstanding story and the gameplay never gets old. Definitely worthy of game of the year
