Via Chromecast, we enjoy viewing photos & watching videos on our home theater TV that are cast straight from our laptop & smartphones. And more Chromecast apps are coming online every month. Note: TechRadar reported on 10/17/14 that Google Chromecast '2' is on its way based upon Google's latest FCC filing. Reportedly, although the new Chromecast will support 5GHz Wi-Fi, the tests carried out by the FCC were all at the 2.4GHz band, keeping the Wi-Fi speed to 802.11n rather than the faster 802.11ac option. We shall see.

Great way to watch tv, it would be perfect if it had a remote!

Works great for streaming from certain devices however I wish more apps could connect to it and more devices. For instance, my Microsoft Surface Pro 2 can not use the play feature on it. That would be a nice feature to include.

Had a little trouble setting up at first. Was able to enjoy after that process was over.

This was something I was dying to get ever since I had heard of it, mainly due to the fact that I'm a bit of a Youtube and Netflix addict. I was hoping to stream music from my server, or perhaps even videos; currently, Google has the methods of streaming locked down to a few avenues. Youtube, Netflix, and Google Music all work great, but I can't really get much other use out of it. That said, for the low price they're asking, it's a great option for those who do not have a "Smart TV" and wish to have the ability to watch expanded content on their network without excessive power use. All in all, I would definitely buy this again, but I really hope that Google plans on opening up the ways to communicate with this device, and allow me to stream from my home network rather than just the internet.

resolution could be a bit cleaner depending on video sources

Great product, this was my second one for myself and have bought two for family members.

I bought the Chromecast to stream watchespn to the TV wirelessly and it works perfectly.

This is a great idea from Google and gets the job done on the couple of available things but it needs to have more apps and allow playing media from LAN, if this is truly going to have an edge over competition e.g Aipplay, roku, etc.

Does everything it advertises plus more. I have a Samsung G4 that works perfect with it.

I bought two Chromecasts when they were released and use on 2 different TVs. For the price you can beat them; just needs more ubiquitous application support. Now it is a limited number of applications (e.g. chrome, youtube, netflix).

Another great device under googles belt. I had one for a long time this is a second one.

I don't use this much but when I do need to stream things to my tv it comes in handy.
