Nice product, worth the money. I would definitely recommend.

I own one and have done extensive testing on it. Contrary to some of the reviews here, the Chromecast is compatible with iOS, Android, PC, Mac and just about any device you can imagine. Also contrary to reviews here, you can stream local videos by dragging and dropping local video files to Chrome. Finally, while there are only four apps available today, any video that can be streamed in a Chrome browser can be cast to your TV. The app SDK was just released and many app developers have already committed to building apps. Although you don't need an app to stream online video, I'd expect a ton of apps will quickly become available since this is having such broad appeal and selling out everywhere.

This is fun little device to use! I love how easy it is to switch from tv to tv. I just wish that it actually mirrored your iPad.....so I can show my photos or videos directly on the tv. They need to add more compatible apps.

I bought this product so I can watch movies and school videos without having to sit at my desk. Once I got the product to work it has been working great. For those who may be experiencing difficulties getting the device to work from a PC here is a easy fix. Problem 1: Add ChromeCast to virus program exception list. My virus program blocked the device because it doesn't really have a security protocol. Once I did this I could connect the device to my network. Problem 2: After fixing the above problem I could connect the device but it would not go on the internet or stay connected via WiFi. It took me a good while to figure out the solution. Make sure your LAN line is disconnected from the computer and your computer is only on WiFi. This will create some sort of conflict if you don't. Google tech support failed to ask that question during my numerous tech support calls. Once I disconnected my LAN line the device has been working like a champ. **Make sure router is as close as possible to your ChromeCast** Great device and Best Buy shipping was very fast. The device casts Blu Ray movies quite well and takes the need for running a very long and expensive HDMI cable from my computer to tv. I am a satisfied customer. Hope this review helps.

I had a Roku which I liked very much. Unfortunately, it quit working with my TV. I am not all that tech savvy so I just let it go until I saw the Chromecast on sale. It was VERY easy to set up (even for me). There were some issues with my wireless router that I couldn't resolve until I turned everything off and on again (always a good idea!). I like that I can use my iphone to access apps. Two things that are improvements for me are: !) the ability to cast from my laptop screen onto the TV! Very cool! (AND i can turn up the sound--a lot of youtube videos aren't very loud and since my laptop travels, I choose not to hook up speakers to it usually). 2) They have an ABC app that allows me to watch local TV news in the bedroom. We have Comcast in the living room but not here. For me, it was just easier all around than the Roku. Enjoying very much!

Planning on getting one for my dad for father's day. This still makes a wonderful way to put things on the TV when you don't have other options to stream, but you have a tablet or smartphone. When using the direct from screen thing, though it gets somewhat laggy when you don't have a super fast internet connection.

Easy to use my little man loves. I as well. Would definitely rrecommend.
