I bought this when ROKU did not have YouTube. It was the cheapest way to get YouTube on my TV. While it works OK, it is hampered by slow adoption rates by App makers, and the lack of a physical remote is much more burdensome than I thought it would be. My advice is to get an Amazon FireStick or a ROKU.

How does one compete with a Roku, Rovi, Apple, Amazon, etc.? You make a simple, ultra portable, easy to use device that everyone can afford. Can't go wrong with the price and the features are all there with more on the way from developers. Love to stream? Get the Chromecast. Nuff' said.

this was a surprise i can control the chromecast from my smart phone and watch movies in netflix i just converted my old hdtv to a smart tv for 35dlls

If you use Plex you can stream virtually any movies you have on your computer to chromecast. This will let you play your movies on the big screen without having to run wires. All you need is an HDMI port on your TV. Works great!

This allows me to cast so many things from my android directly to my TV. With so many 3rd party apps that support Chromecast it's almost a no brainer to have, even if you don't think you'll use it that much. Works great too!

For $35 bucks there is a reason they are still sold out everywhere. This is the coolest little thing that works woth every tv and does everything you'll really use any of the other devices loke a roku or costar. Highly recommended

This little device is so great. It is easy to set up and fast. After a few minutes I was ready to watch YouTube and Netflix from my iPod touch 5th gen. This putchase was a good deal because it came with 3 free months of Netflix.

Chromecast has completely revolutionised the way we watch TV. The ability to cast apps from devices as well as play movies from the computer through chrome browser at such an incredible price makes it a must have for anyone.

First off, I am a very techie person and can usually doing devices like this with ease. I bought this thinking it would be somewhat comparable to the Roku or Amazon Fire, knowing that it wasn't going to be completely like the other 2 devices. It took a while to get it hooked up to my wireless network. After that, tried using it with both my phone and computer which is where I was real disappointed. Basically all this device can be used for is limited mirroring (you can only mirror a google chrome web browser from your computer) and specific apps that have chromecast compatibility. I bought it thinking I could mirror my computer screen, which again, you can only mirror a Google Chrome web browser. I am truly disappointed with this product and will be returning it for another Roku.

I wanted this to be able to stream the videos from my laptop to my television. Due to the lack of instructions on how to get this item to perform that task I decided it would be easier to return this item. It was easier to connect my laptop to my television via HDMI and stream my videos.

I was up and "casting" from my smartphone and tablet within 5 minutes of unwrapping the box.

Installation was very quick. No remote, can be controlled via tablet, laptop or cell phone.

Got it for a good price. Works well with my devices. Worth it.

I got this for a Christmas gift for a Co-work and he loves it.

We bought one and liked it so much we got another for the bedroom. If you are watching from one room you can go to the other with no problems. Great buy and worth the money!

It's easy to setup and works flawlessly. Lacks a remote control, and no straight forward way to play local media (on phone / laptop).

When I moved out I really didn't want to spend a lot of money on cable. My friend mentioned this products to me so I looked it up, found the closest best buy to me, and bought one. I'm glad I did. Now I can binge watch all my Netflix shows on my tv rather then my laptop

best feature is the casting from the chrome web browser on my computer. super handy.
