I really enjoyed my Chromecast for the first 6 months - streaming Youtube and Netflix flawlessly. Casting tabs from Chrome was also great, with minimal issues as well. Unfortunately, out of nowhere it just started crashing and could not be detected anymore. I tried every troubleshooting technique online, from various blogs, and Google - to no avail (Chromecast support is pretty much nonexistent). If it wasn't so cheap I'd be really p.o'd but it is what it is.

Best thing you could buy. No more hdmi cables can stream anything from my phone to my tv. Easy set up and i love the cast screen option! It doesnt have to be an app u can watch anything.

easy setup, great to cast things that otherwise wouldn't be on your tv. handy to have around. for just netflix and hulu I prefer roku though.

Bought this item as a gift. Great product for the price and my brother-in-law has watched many great programs using the Google Chromecast.

Works great for streaming ALL of my content directly to my 55" SONY LED HDTV. So small and compact in one little package. Not much bigger than a USB Memory Drive. Great item Google!

Installation was quick and easy. Took about 8 minutes to initialize and name the device. Once set up, it moves easily to other TVs. I was able to watch Netflix and YouTube, and listen to Pandora on an ipad mini, ASUS tablet, Samsung Galaxy phone, Windows laptop, and Windows PC- all without issues. The picture quality and sound were all good. I am hoping that more apps are added to the device soon such as picture viewer and imovies.

Downloaded an app on my cell phone so I can stream videos through Chromecast that I have recorded on my phone to my TV. Works great. I am going to buy another one for my bedroom.

A great device for watching programs on your laptop, desktop, tablet or HDTV. No need for cable, just internet service and you're good to go.

This is my second chromecast. I bought first one, used it and then thought it would be better if I had a remote so that I don't have to use any device (tablet, computer, phone) to use primarily youtube. I bought a Roku 3 but found that Chromecast is much better than Roku 3. Boots up nicely and interface with laptop, mobile phone and tablet is very smooth.

I found the Chromecast to be easy to use the setup time was under 5 minutes. I like the fact that it uses the tvs usb to charge which allows for a quicker setup. There is a slight delay when using chromecast with a chrome browser. Youtube and netflix work great and I have experienced no problems with those apps so far.

This thing is a little outdated now. But at the time it was a great way to stream.

The TV with the DVD player went out and we didn't want to put cable in our room, so we had a 32" that wasn't being used, until I bought this. We would watch shows and movies on the iPad together but it was so much smaller and inconvenient to use in bed. The Chromecast made it so much better. I would've given 5 stars if it was a bit easier to get it to pause and restart without having an occasional frozen screen; not sure if it was the Chromecast causing it or the app we were using. Either, a really great investment!

I love the ability to stream from my smart device to the TV with the ease of chromecast. A great alternative to the apple TV if you want to save money!

I gave this to my son, but he has not utilized it yet. I look forward to helping him get it configured for his summer break.

After setting up the hardware Chromecast starts streaming to your screen, "Your Chromekey deserves the latest! We're grabbing an update, which may take several minutes..." Took several hours, and no, wasn't my router or modem or reset button. I hit the forums and tons of techies had same issue. We had to howl at the moon thus 3 stars.

Concept is great, this product needs help. It gets so hot you can almost not touch it. Then the connection seems jumpy until you unplug it and let it cool down. I should have returned it even though it was only $35 it's still a waste of money. Also, I got it to watch xfinity.com using my iPad, trick is you MUST use the Chrome browser and it uses LOTS of memory so it runs kinda slow on the iPad. Do not like it at all.

I love being able to play things from my phone or iPad on my television. Very easy to use and friends can also use their devices to play things. Everyone needs one!

Its a great little product to play things like netflix and youtube on a tv. Works well and at 35 dollars new, it is a great price as well. Would recommend to anyone.

Aside from a small lack of compatible apps, the Chromecast is an excellent investment for any Android user! The software works extremely well, and is very convenient.

Overall a good product if you already have a paid subscription to Netflix or Pandora. I didn't when I bought mine, but do now. I originally got this because I was told by a employee tha this device had full access to the Google Play Store, whih it absolutely doesn't. This device only has about 10 apps available for it and they are mostly paid subscriptions. This device also can not play your videos from your device. At least using chromecast app that is. You kind of can using other cast apps but not very well.
