Hi, SharenJ. We're sorry to hear that your Fitbit Charge 6 is not tracking your steps properly. Fitbit devices use a 3-axis accelerometer to count your steps. This sensor also allows your device to determine the frequency, duration, intensity, and patterns of your movement. Also, factors such as device placement, dominant or non-dominant hand, and stride length affect the number of steps recorded. If you're pushing a stroller or shopping cart, try putting your wrist-based device in your pocket or use GPS if possible. The Fitbit Charge 6 My Wife’s Charge 5 broke after a rather severe impact. Nothing I could do about that. So I ordered her a Charge 6. The watch itself works great, and the sleep monitoring system is quite good. It has a major drawback. If you misplace it, you are going to have to download a Bluetooth detection app that will get you within about 10 feet. The watch doesn’t make noise to tell you where it is. Most would say that you aren’t supposed to lose your watch anyway. Unfortunately, the Fitbit 6 has a serious problem with the watchband letting go of the watch. At first, I thought it must just be this watch, but a quick internet search showed many pages of people with the exact same complaint. The watch is great, but good luck keeping it on your arm. When I attached the band, I discovered that with minor movement, it would fall off. So, I ordered a new band from Amazon and installed it. It worked for about three days, then had the same problem as the first.

Hi, Jabra7pro. We appreciate your feedback. Fitbit Charge 6 is a wrist-based motion sensor, it may add extra steps whenever your arms are moving, even though your body isn't. To get better step tracking, please ensure your wrist placement setting is aligned with how you wear your tracker. We suggest fixing your hand settings to "Dominant" to decrease its step counting sensitivity. For more info and tips on how to best improve your tracker's accuracy, please check out: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1136.htm

Hi there, OLED. We hear your concerns regarding inconsistent heart rate tracking on the Charge 6 — we get how frustrating this is. Heart rate tracking accuracy is affected by your personal physiology, device placement on your arm, and the activity you're doing. Here’s a few tips to get better readings:

      1. Wear your Fitbit device on top of your wrist with the back in contact with your skin. When not exercising, position it a finger's width above your wrist bone.
      2. During exercise, wear it slightly tighter and higher for a snug fit that doesn't restrict blood flow, as this can affect the heart rate signal.
      3. Frequent wrist bending during activities can also interfere with the signal if the watch is worn too low.

All times of the day, it tracks everything well. As soon as Im doing any work out it loses my heart rate. The time I need it the most and it NEVER tracks it during a workout. Ive had a major weight loss journey that has been made frustrating because I cant measure the intensity of my cardio workouts. Insanely frustrating.

Hi there, Mack. Sorry you’re having accuracy issues with heart rate on the Charge 6 — we get this is frustrating. Try these steps to make sure your device is working optimally:

      1. Tighten the band so that it doesn’t slip on your wrist
      2. Heart-rate tracking may not work with certain accessory bands, especially if they’re loose fitting
      3. Use the Exercise app to record GPS data for your workout.
      4. Intense arm movements can weaken your device's signal. If this occurs, relax and keep your wrist still for roughly 10 seconds.

Hey there, BrandonJ. We hear your concerns regarding not getting the best accuracy with the Charge 6. We recommend wearing it loosely for daily use, but for exercise, move the band 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone for a secure fit. If it continues to show inconsistent data, please contact us so we can look into this further with you: https://support.google.com/fitbit/gethelp

Fitbits blow. The predecessors and the Charge 5, 6 only last about a year until they stop working, or fitbit decides to brick them with an update. You can count on that. The app is meh and is ridiculously overpriced for premium data. They are however, the most comfortable to wear.

Absolute crap. I've ordered 2 of these, both are broken and will not hold a charge. I've went online, youtube, google, and talked to 3 customer service representatives, HORRIBLE product, returning the 2nd tomorrow. Nobody can explain why this is happening, all of the plastic has been removed that they were shipped in. DON'T BUY! If you do make sure you get the warranty- you'll need it!

This is my fifth purchase of a Fitbit product. Likely my last. First I had to abandon (forced) my active Fitbit account and sign up with a gmail account that I never use and now don’t get my emails and notifications unless I check the mandatory gmail account. Not convenient. The durability of the device has not been as strong as previous models. Chaulk me up as a disappointed loyal user who does not support the manufacturer dictates and mandates to their products and platforms. Not a good customer experience.
