The initial setup was easy however while going through the setup in the app I was advised that I needed the power adapter. The app allowed me to navigate into the Google store and get the adapter for free. The adapter shipped and was received within three days. That being said set up is easy since I have a two cable setup it didn't take too long installation took about 10 minutes tops. Google home app tells you everything you need to for the setup

But there is a short, unfair return policy hidden in the fine print. They would not honor a return. It say Geek Squad certified but clearly nobody actually looked at it. Item arrived roughly closed with tape. Just a bad experience. I typically love Best Buy but feel completely cheated and swindled with this.

I returned 2 of them, 1 of them was delivered in brown box not original package. The return process was difficult. Do not buy items from Bestbuy if you are not sure you can return!

Disappointed about Refurbished thermostat

The one I received was not refurbished - batteries were still in and it was not reset to factory settings. Seems that refurbished to Best Buy means just placed back on the shelf!

Doesn’t work with sensors. 5 stars if you know what you’re getting into. 1 star if you don’t like being ripped off and having your time wasted.

Obviously I was hesitant on refurbished but I put my money on Best Buy and lost it all. Touch screen didn't respond to touch on this device.

Poor packaging and missing parts

One unit came without screws and the batteries still inserted in them, the other unit had missing batteries and manual. Hopefully they are actually working correctly, but first impressions are not promising.

Will Not replace with another Nest.

Thermostat unit will not activate

I called Google twice during the activation process. Google up and recommended I return the unit back to you. Google was baffled at their inability to help.
