We’re sorry to hear it disconnected from the Google Home app, and we’re glad that you were able to find a workaround for it. Nest thermostats support both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. Since your thermostat works with no problem on the 2.4 GHz network, it would be best to keep it as it is. The waves of the 2.4 GHz band can travel a greater distance than those of the 5 GHz band. If your 5 GHz network has issues with connectivity, we suggest getting in touch with your internet service provider.

I tried installing but didn’t worked. So I can an expert and come to know that it’s not working… Best Buy should check refurbished items correctly then sell it back

Posted .Hello there, StephanieG. Thanks for sharing your insights on the Nest Thermostat. A connection to a secure wireless network is required to set up the Nest Thermostat. Once you add the thermostat to the Google Home app, you can easily control it using the app even when you’re not at home as long as your thermostat and Home app (phone or tablet) are both online. But you can still manually adjust the thermostat’s temperature directly on the thermostat if your Wi-Fi is down.
