Posted .Hi Macky, We’re sorry to hear that your experience with the sound quality of your Google Nest Audio has been less than ideal. Here are a few tips on how to enhance the bass response of your Google Nest Audio and improve your listening experience:
- Position your Google Nest Audio on a firm flat surface, avoid any soft or absorbent materials like carpets or rugs. Aim for a central location in a room, away from walls or corners, to allow sound waves to disperse evenly.
- Adjust the equalizer settings within the Google Home app to enhance bass reproduction. Increase the bass slider to your preferred level, ensuring it doesn’t overwhelm the overall sound profile.
- Keep your Google Nest Audio software up to date.
- Factory Reset: If bass issues persist, consider performing a factory reset on your Google Nest Audio. This can sometimes resolve software glitches or inconsistencies that may be affecting bass performance.
If you find yourself in need of any help about the features or performance of the Google Nest Audio, you can reach out to our dedicated team of specialists on our Google Help page for immediate support here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

- Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Chromecast or speaker.
- Open the Google Home app.

- At the top right corner, tap Equalizer settings .
- Adjust Bass and Treble level.

Nest Audio problem
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Crackling popping sound when playing music debating on returning
This review is from Nest Audio - Smart Speaker with Google Assistant - Charcoal
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from Nest Support
Posted .Hi there, thanks for the feedback that you shared with us about the Nest Audio. We’re sorry to learn of your issue with the crackling popping sound when playing music.
If you’re willing to try, we suggest these simple steps to isolate the popping noise issue:
- On the side of the Nest Mini, toggle the mic switch off.
- Your Nest Mini will tell you when the microphone is on or off.
If the popping sound stops, then you can turn the Ultrasound sensing off. This setting is on by default, but you have the ability to turn it off (and then back on as you like) at any time in the Google Home app. Occasionally, other things in your home environment may cause ultrasonic noise and may disrupt Ultrasound sensing for a brief period. This should discontinue as soon as the ultrasonic noise stops. When Ultrasound sensing is turned on, your Nest Mini will detect that you’re nearby if your palm is 2 to 6 inches above your device during media playback. To turn Ultrasound sensing on or off, follow these steps:
- Open the Google Home app .
- Tap your Google Nest Mini.
- At the top right corner, tap Settings > Recognition & sharing.
- Turn Ultrasound sensing off.
We care about your experience, and we understand your decision to return it. But if you’d like to give us an opportunity to investigate your issue, please reach out to our dedicated team anytime here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Posted .Hi Ruiz77, thanks for sharing your review about the Nest Audio, and it’s unfortunate to learn of your issue with its Google Assistant.
Google Assistant might not respond properly when you say “Hey Google” or “Ok Google,” particularly in a noisy environment, or if it's having trouble connecting to Google. Retraining your Nest Audio, to better recognize your voice, and adjusting the Hotword sensitivity may be helpful with the issue. You may follow the steps on these help articles:
- Check which devices are using Voice Match: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7588195
- Adjust how sensitive Google Assistant is to “Hey Google: https://support.google.com/assistant/answer/9712065
You can also try these simple steps below that might help:
- Check your Wi-Fi network for possible congestion. Relieving some of your connected devices may help free up some bandwidth space.
- Check the distance between the Nest Audio and your router. Ensure that it is within a line of sight from your router.
- Check for wireless interference with other Wi-Fi hotspots or appliances and devices nearby.
- Restart Nest speaker and router to refresh the connection.
- Reset Nest Audio by following the steps here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7073477
If the issue persists, we’d like to learn more about your feedback and see how we can provide a better experience for you. Please feel free to get in touch with our dedicated team using this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp
