Good cameras with great picture, meh battery

Good for areas with less interactions or reasons for the camera to toggle on and off. You can permantly plug these in however, which is how one of these is setup.

I bought this two pack and single pack and within an hour had all three mounted, connected to the app, tested and positioned. I'm impressed with the video quality and the battery life. These cameras are not recording 24/7. They only come on when motion is detected. That is how they manage the battery charge. Battery life is reported in the app where it indicates percentage and approximately how many weeks more of battery life each camera has before needing a recharge. I installed all of them on October 2nd. It's now October 23. The most active camera positioned on the driveway has 6 more weeks (71%) battery life. The other two positioned at the rear of the home still have 8 and 11 months (more than 90%) battery life. For having them up and outdoors for three weeks, the battery life is better than expected.

Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty decent camera, the quality of video is HD 1080p, but batteries life sucks, it does not last as google claim so I have to use it wired and I wish google would incorporate the nest app feature with a software update because it’s so much better.

You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. - Busy - About 1.5 months battery life (about 20 - 25 recorded events per day)
- Typical - About 3 months battery life (about 9 - 12 recorded events per day)
- Quiet - About 7 months battery life (about 2 - 4 recorded events per day)
If you're willing to try, we recommend checking the frequency of events (per day) that you get with your Nest Cam (Battery). Wish there was a way to better secure them to building. Magnet is very strong but plastic bracket is just that plastic. If outside, can be easily stolen.

Yeah you don’t get 24/7 on battery and no charger to not 4K. This is a battery camera. It would not sel well if the battery lasts a day because it records 24/7. It always records events. If you don’t get a notification of close events.. it still records them. Facial recognition is leaps ahead of the last gen.. which I liked a lot. I have a metal fence and I tested out live view. I walked where me head poked out and i got a notification within 1 second that a person was detected (not exagerated. Only disappointment is the sole panel isn’t released yet. Highly highly recommend. If you want a cheap unreliable.. because I have all these get blink or ring.. I’m phasing out my blink and ring. This camera is great.. can’t wait for the nest spotlight to replace my ring spotlight.. Side not- the low rating of this is due to people not comprehending what a battery camera.. when using battery is….

Also, the only places you can see a stream for the cameras is on a nest hub, or your cell phone. I thought itd work with chromecast but it doesn’t.

- Check for possible congestion in your Wi-Fi network. Removing some of your connected devices can help free up some bandwidth space. You may then check to see if you will still experience the same connectivity issue. Once you verify congestion, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider to check your connection and upgrade it if needed.
- You may also check for possible sources of interference such as the thick walls and appliances in your home.
Unfortunately, Nest Cam (battery) can only stream to a smart display screen. However, we value your feedback and we'll certainly take this information into consideration and pass them along to the right team. Needed to buy solar panels. Bulky. Paid for install and they just screwed it in the place it’s magnetically sticks. Don’t pay for install waste of money.

Easy setup and install

Very easy to install and set up. I find that the camera in battery mode only has hesitation in recording motion and misses or has partial event recordings. I recommend using the power cable( additional cost) which corrects this issue.

I purchased mine on 10/30/2021 and had them put up on November 7, 2021. Now just a month and a half later I have had to pull them down and charge them twice. That is very inconvenient for me and it was my thought that they would last 6 months. When you fully charge them it tells you they have 18 months of battery life. My doorbell camera was purchased at this same time and installed the same day, it too has to be recharged every two weeks. Very disappointed after spending $400+ on cameras.

I do like the face reginition feature, but when you’re using a wireless setup I feel there is really nothing stopping someone from stealing the camera. Not sure what they’d do with it if stolen, but would be nice to have some kind of safety mechanism to prevent it from being removed. Batter life is pretty good and doesn’t require me to recharge the battery every week. It says it lasts over 6months on a charge. So far, I’ve charged it once completely and it’s at 90% on one camera and 40% on the other. The reality is the battery life depends on how often a camera is triggered. I have the Ring at my main property and Google at the rental. I like Ring’s interface over Google.
