Battery and camera is all in one not separable. You can not mount them very high and keep the quality. Google has only agreed to support them for 5 years. I took mine back and bought Arlo instead. 10 x better. Has solar charger, better zoom, easier set up, spitlight, cheaper and they give you an extra battery. It will not work on same app with nest door bell.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2 pack includes a bit of extra mounting hardware no one really needs (short security cables that aren't really secure?) and gimps you out of a whole wall charger and charging cable — despite being a 2 pack it only comes with 1 charger and 1 cable for both cameras but costs exactly the same as two individual kits that would each include a wall charger and its cable. In short, don't get gimped. Only buy the single camera kits.

Quality Product and Easy to Install

I’ve built a great Google Nest and home system. So easy to install. I saw other camera security systems that would have been a nightmare to install with wires and cords all over the place. Google Nest was a great buy, especially since they were on sale.

Since your camera is detecting a lot of activities, you can extend the battery life by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Also, you can plug your camera to a power outlet with the included power adapter for continuous power. However, the included power adapter is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use. We suggest using a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately). Contact your retailer for inquiries.

Outstanding cameras for security

Really love the ability to create an activity zone to greatly minimize false positive alerts and truly focus on the areas we're most wanting to monitor.

There were no instructions on how long to charge them. I had to go on line and look it up. Also the instructions in the package were printed in grey in 6/7 point type. VERY DIFFICULT TO READ. I had to take pictures and blow them up on my phone. Those marketing people think they are so clever, but they are not realistic.

As these are newer than the originals, they don't show up in the Nest App, but everything shows up in the Google Home app. The battery life is decent, with active cameras lasting 2 weeks, less active units lasting less.

Motion detection for Nest Cam (Battery) can be affected by changes in the light level, and shadows moving across the frame like when a cloud moves in front of the sun. This also includes other movements within the camera's field of view like trees or bushes swaying. If you're not getting any alerts or notifications, we recommend trying out the steps below:
1. Change the Activity Zones on your camera. You can delete your existing Activity Zone and create a new one in any area within your camera's field of view. Just make sure that none of the zones you create overlap.
2. Change the angle of your camera and account for the lighting in the surrounding area.
3. Restart your Camera.
