Nest is not what it used to be

Saves very short clips that are not helpful. Google is cheapening and reducing quality of what used to be great products. Disappointed and returned.

- Automatic security protections, such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup.
- Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, if you have a Nest Cam and a Nest Hub, just say, "Hey Google, show me the backyard camera” to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup.
- One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps.
- Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps.

The 4th camera will not sinc up. It keeps locking up when searching for another device to mirror the settings. It keeps saying, "Something Went Wrong, Try Again" I wish I could manually set it up. Not sure what the deal is and I'm not interested in paying someone to check it out when it should be a simple process. I have tried rebooting but nothing seems to work.

- Check your Wi-Fi network for possible congestion. Relieving some of your connected devices may help free up some bandwidth space.
- Check the distance between Nest Cam (Battery) and your router. Ensure that it's within a line of sight from your router.
- Check for wireless interference with other Wi-Fi hotspots or appliances and devices nearby.

Google Home App Atrocious

The Google Home app is quite the opposite. Additionally, cameras must be on the same WIFI network as existing devices. (Google will say otherwise, but their support was unable to resolve after several hours).

The new Nest Cam (battery) is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

The camera is excellent as are the dual flood lights. I really like operating and customizing this for brightbess abd duration. I really like the automation feature tonadjust to our security events.

Battery is inadequate and lasts less than 2 weeks, even if pointed at a low traffic area. Why is the power wire facing towards the front? Google please design an updated and improved IQ cam to make up for this disaster. Returning.

Battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios:
- Busy - About 1.5 months battery life (about 20 - 25 recorded events per day)
- Typical - About 3 months battery life (about 9 - 12 recorded events per day)
- Quiet - About 7 months battery life (about 2 - 4 recorded events per day)
