Hard to set up poor battery

Have other best camera items that are over 5 years old and still work perfectly so maybe I am old fashioned. But I am not impressed they are dead with in a day.

Power cord does NOT come through the mount, actually connects to the camera. Not a very clean look! Also, note that you get a pair of cameras but only one power cable. On the upside, they gave me $20 when I called to ask why I didn’t get a second power cable.

Battery, one camera at 55% in 5 days, other one at 65%. Would rather recommend buying the previous Nest/Google wired cameras that works with the nest app.

New Nest cameras are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. But you can still view your existing Nest cameras alongside with the new Nest Cams in the Google Home app. Also, using the Google Home app provides you with a lot of benefits including access to Google's trusted security platform and access to other Google tools and with seamless integration with other Google devices.
As for the quality, adjusting the video quality in settings to balance high resolution video with longer battery life and lower bandwidth use might be helpful.. For optimal video quality at 1080p, an internet connection upload speed with at least 2 Mbps per camera is recommended (DSL may not qualify). Please check the steps below:
- Open the Home app Google Home app.
- Select your camera.
- Tap Settings Video.
- Under “Video quality,” tap High.
Battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Essentially a fake camera

This is not like previous nestcam. Reduced app functionality. Horrible motion detection. Takes 1-2min to load live view. Essentially a paperweight. Worst camera ever. Should be recalled.

The new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. Also, event detection depends on the camera settings that you select, you can change the settings like adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas.

It’s even hard for them to connect for me to view live events. Nest Aware Plus claims 24/7 of these are plugged in, but doesn’t record. Big disappointment from a Nest product.

Beware - Can't be used on NEST app!

I have 7 cameras. Lighting struck, and fried one hanging on my detached garage. I bought the new Google/Nest camera 2 pack. Turns out, Google only allows these cameras to be viewed on their Home appbh no longer on the Nest app that has all my other cameras. That's nuts! You can't even view all of your cameras' feeds simultaneously anymore. I'm returning these and going with a new brand. My current Nest cameras are old and I was planning on swapping them out for newer versions once they failed. No more. Thanks guys... for ruining a good thing.

Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, and Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.
