    This version is inferior to previous product in several ways but mainly due to the fact that you can’t have all feed recorded as you used to, only events. Also not accessible through nest app, so can’t see all my cameras from the app any more

    I'm not sure how you can call this a "security" camera. The camera has a 10 minute notification cooldown period (may even be longer) which means if 2 separate events happen within a 10 minute time frame, you will only receive a notification for the first one. That's a massive flaw for a "security" camera. Returning these ASAP.

    Nest Cam doesn't sync with Nest App!!!

    Uh, according to Nest support, the new Nest camera does not sync on the Nest App. It only can be seen on the google home app. Ill say that again, the new Nest cameras do not work on the nest app.

    I want original Nest products back. I like the Nest app better. With these cameras you have to switch to google home app. Which is okay but if you have an old Nest product and are viewing the viewing history isn’t 24 hrs like it used to be. It only picks up motions as it pleases. Nothing to do with settings it’s Nest and “google nest” don’t seem to be 100% compatible. I miss old Nest. I loved Nest. Video quality is okay. Battery life as expected. I do like the zoning options this camera provides and familiar face recognition. Came with 1 charger for 2 cameras.

      Motion detection on Nest Cam (Battery) can be affected by changes in the light level, and shadows moving across the frame like when a cloud moves in front of the sun. This also includes other movements within the camera's field of view like trees or bushes swaying. If you're not getting any alerts or notifications, we recommend trying out the steps below:
      1. Change the Activity Zones on your camera. You can delete your existing Activity Zone and create a new one in any area within your camera's field of view. Just make sure that none of the zones you create overlap.
      2. Change the angle of your camera and account for the lighting in the surrounding area.
      3. Restart your Camera.

    Before you buy... Will not work on Nest App

    The only reason I purchased this was so that I could utilize the Nest app and Nest Aware. I was wrong. I might as well have bought a different brand for near half the price.

We understand that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera/doorbell feeds from the Nest app. However, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. We’re working on bringing full functionality to the Home app as we want to create an integrated experience with other Nest and smart home devices. And while the new Nest cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Google Home app, users with previous versions of Nest cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams. Meanwhile, we suggest having the latest version of the Google Home app that may improve camera playback controls to make it easier to play, pause, and navigate between events from the camera history view for cameras set up in the Google Home app.

There are several factors that can influence detection speed. WiFi signal strength, camera placement, and even weather conditions can affect detection speed so we suggest checking the motion detection settings in the Google Home app. Ensure motion zones are set to focus on the area with expected activity. Higher sensitivity might trigger faster detection but could also lead to unwanted alerts for minor movements. Battery life depends on how often the camera detects motion and records video. Frequent recordings will drain the battery faster.     Can't view from computer

    Video quality is alright, and with the nest aware subscription some features are pretty cool. 1 star because there is NO WAY to view on my computer. They don't straight out say this in the marketing material. The support pages don't directly differentiate from older nest cameras that can. Closest thing is downloading a clip on your phone, then having to email it over. Can we just stop having product launches that remove features from previous iterations? No viewing live feed from computer, no timelapses. Really seems crippled

    Only 1 charger… won’t go on nest app.. need to ise google home.. so the 2 nest iq on nest and these 2 on google home..

      Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

      Also, the 2-pack Nest Cam (battery) comes with a single charging cable. Your cameras shouldn't usually need to be charged at the same time due to differences in usage, such as event frequency or the scene the camera is observing, sensitivity, and event duration settings.

    These new google nest products are absolute garbage starting with the app that is evidently being coded by elementary school kids because nothing works, its bloated, unintuitive, and just plainly does not work. The app alone isn’t even a fraction of the quality the original Nest app was. Google interferes with everything and ruins everything they touch. Absolute GARBAGE and NO LONGER RECOMMENDED!!

    It’s not the cameras I am unhappy about it’s the app you have to use. These Nest cameras make you use the Google app vs the Nest app and that app sucks! Very dissatisfied!
