If i lose the signal in my home, its a nightmare getting them back on line. I have to remove them from my phone app, take pics of the QR codes and try to hook them up again. This is a royal pain.

We want to let you know, there are a couple of things to keep in mind: your cameras should be no more than 25 feet away from the WiFi router and be aware that some devices can interfere with your camera's Wi-Fi signal, such as microwaves, baby monitors, and mirrors. Nest Cam (Battery) supports 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi standard and works on typical dual band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz routers. It also supports WEP, WPA, WPA2, WPA3 security encryption. You may want to check on your router's specification and security encryption that you're using. If the issue isn't related to either the Wi-Fi specification or security encryption, then we may need to have a close look at your device. I have contacted Google, and they want me to pay for a new one. Nest before Google was better and would send me a new one for free. Battery life is bad, camera is never on and Google has no answers.

The new Nest Cam (battery) is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.
