Nest app is an amazing tool for smart homes. This camera cannot be added to the nest app and only can be viewed from Google home. Google home is a terrible app. Unfortunately this is enough to steer away from this camera.

I have 7 cameras. Lighting struck, and fried one hanging on my detached garage. I bought the new Google/Nest camera 2 pack. Turns out, Google only allows these cameras to be viewed on their Home appbh no longer on the Nest app that has all my other cameras. That's nuts! You can't even view all of your cameras' feeds simultaneously anymore. I'm returning these and going with a new brand. My current Nest cameras are old and I was planning on swapping them out for newer versions once they failed. No more. Thanks guys... for ruining a good thing.

Nest app doesnt work on google tv!? What a joke

It does it when it feels like it I would rather buy wired cameras NVR instead of wifi cameras. F+ for google in this one.

If you’ve set your camera to record and save specific kinds of events in its video history, your camera will detect and process any relevant activity it detects, but will only save footage of events you’ve enabled to the cloud. Also, a big Activity Zone captures more activity. In general, the smaller and more precise the Activity Zone, the more accurate your camera’s alerts should be. Try to experiment with the size and placement of your Activity Zones to get the effect that you want. You might have to move your camera, change your camera’s angle, or change something in the scene so that you don’t miss important activity.

I spent the last few months with 4 different google representatives trying to add this camera. We used every method possible before the last one told me to take it back to the store because the camera is defective. I am extremely annoyed that I would be sold a defective and used product.

I questioned it several times but was assured I was given the right camera. Got home and called the "Tech Team" to verify. The first 3 people couldn't seem to comprehend the difference between wireless battery and plugged into 120 volt house current!! After 45 minutes and finally a 4 th "expert", I was assured this camera would work. Since I am a total tech member( what a waste of money), it was to be installed free. The service tech wasn't there 5 minutes and told me I had the wrong camera. The service tech was great, the store and phone service personnel are poorly trained, management deficiency. Service tech commented that he runs into this often since it has been outsourced.

They force you to use the Google Home App which is absolutely horrible. Buy Arlo instead. It’s the new Nest.

I have lots of nest cameras at different locations in different towns. I was waiting for these so I didn’t have to run new power to certain areas. But what good is having to use a different app to see all me cameras! It’s a security camera! Am I supposed to flip between apps while there’s a potential break in? To the people or google who say “use the 1 google home app and see all the cameras”. That app is garbage. Hard to set up slow way slower than Nest app and unreliable and best. I’ve always been able to depend on the Nest app. But now it really makes the whole system useless. It was simple take a camera people love, make it battery operated. How did you screw that up??? These are coming back your way google.
