Posted .Hi there, Ismalife. Thanks for your feedback on Nest Cam (battery), and for being an avid user of Google devices. We're sorry to hear that your experience with the camera's battery life is below your expectations.
Battery life depends on factors like recording settings and activity level, but two days definitely falls short of expectations. You can try adjusting settings like recording frequency, video quality, and event duration to conserve battery. We also recommend checking that the camera is securely plugged into a working outlet. If the battery issue persists and you have easy access to an outlet, plugging the camera into a power outlet with the included power adapter might be a better fit, which is also required to get 24/7 recording. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Cam (battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use, and we suggest using a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately). You can contact your retailer for product availability.

Find a different option, these are not good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have used nests old cameras you will be extremely disappointed with these. No matter what you do these cameras don’t continuously record. They only record “events”. Countless times i’ve tried to go back and review camera footage only to find out the app didn’t record it at all and I can’t just rewind and watch everything. There are a lot of situations where you may want to see whats going on around your property at certain times even if no event triggered the camera. I also had to pay extra money for the POWER CABLE. Seriously ridiculous money grab by google. And the app is trash. The nest app was perfect, i got the notifications to my apple watch. I get a blank white screen with these cameras and the google app now when I try to preview an event. Useless garbage that I am now stuck with. I’ll NEVER buy another google product. You have been warned.

Posted .Hi RT1611, we value your feedback about the Nest Cam (Battery), and we’re sorry to learn it’s a disappointment for you.
The Nest Cam (Battery) is the first battery-powered camera created by Google. Unlike the previous versions of Nest cameras with still images up to 3 hours, the new Nest Cam (Battery) comes with free 3 hour event-based video history. There's no fee to stream full resolution live video and receive basic notifications, as long as your camera is connected to the internet. However, you’ll need a Nest Aware subscription to record video and receive advanced notifications. With a Nest Aware subscription your video will be saved to the cloud and you’ll get extra features.
Nest Aware is a paid subscription service you can use with your Nest products to help keep you informed about important events at your home. With a Nest Aware subscription, you’ll get 30 days of event video history. With Nest Aware Plus, you’ll get 60 days and 10 days of 24/7 video history if you choose to connect your Nest Cam (battery) to a power cable. Old Nest cams far superior.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely disappointed in the new Neat Cameras. I one multiple rental properties and we used the wires Nest cams (older generation ones) until google apparently bought Nest out. We purchased these new cameras and were honestly surprised how much worse they are. First off, quality compared to the old cameras are worse (how does this happen with new tech?). Secondly, the cameras are not continuous in recording and we had an incident where a person broke into our vehicle and there was missing footage for half of the time as if the camera never picked up any “activity.” Also, the google home app is complete garbage compared to the Nest app and we aren’t allowed to connect the new cams to the Nest app. Utterly disappointed- stay away from these.

Posted .Hi TitiBoi420, thanks for reaching out to share your feedback with us. We´re sorry to hear about your disappointment with Nest Cam (Battery) and the Google Home app.
We wanted to make the Google Home app the one place where you can control all your favorite Google Nest devices and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. Here are some benefits you can get by using the Google Home app with your Nest Cam (Battery):
- Automatic security protections such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup.
- Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, if you have a Nest Cam and a Nest Hub, just say, ""Hey Google, show me the backyard camera” to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup.
- One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps.
- Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps.
You may set up your Nest cameras to the Google Home app. Check out this help article: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9893532
Nest Cam (Battery) can accommodate up to 10 days of continuous video recording (CVR) and 24/7 video history if hardwired to power and subscribed to Nest Aware Plus. If you need further help with your Nest Cam ( Battery). We'd be happy to assist you, if you can visit us at the Google Nest help page and speak to any of our support specialists here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Can't Save Non-Detected Events
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product uses the Google Home App. With the Google Home App you cannot download video clips from footage with no activity. I have events, small animals, that the Next Camera (Battery) did not detect that I want to save, but I cannot save them by Google Home App's design. This product is useless until Google adds the ablity to detect all possible events or allows the saving of non-detected activity. From the support page "Note: You can only download video clips from detected events in the video history. You cannot download video clips from footage with no activity." https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9207572#zippy=%2Cdownload-a-video-clip Note that video clips of non-detected events could be saved using the older Nest Cameras that use the Nest App. This Nest Camera (Battery) cannot be used by the Nest App.

Posted .Hi Norman42, we appreciate you for sharing the details of your experience with using the Nest Cam (Battery) and the Home app. We’re sorry to hear that it didn’t detect the events you want to save
Your camera runs algorithms to process video and audio data so it can determine whether it detected something you might want to know about. If you only need your camera to detect people, animals, or moving vehicles, we recommend that you do not turn on the basic motion and sound detection feature. You might have to move your camera, change your camera’s angle, or change something in the scene so that you don’t miss important activity and choose which events your camera can detect and record.
You’ll have the ability to download multiple video clips that event video history automatically captures. If you have event video history, your Nest camera will automatically generate a video clip of the activity that you can download. If you have 24/7 video history and want to create a video clip of a specific event you will need to download one of the automatically generated video clips and edit using your phone’s native video editor.
We hope we can learn more about your experience why your camera didn’t detect events. If you’re willing, you may visit us anytime at the following link and we’d be happy to help: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Disapppointed for price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tested with wirless and wired connectiongs, but the events recording is an issue. When people walk, or cars drive by it does not always capture the whole recording. For example, person walking on sidewalk stops recording halfway through screen. With that said, I don't have confidence it will record everything I need in the event I need it.

Posted .Hi riki, thanks for sharing the details of your feedback on Nest Cam (Battery). We’re sorry to learn that it doesn’t always capture the whole recording. We understand how important it is for your camera to record everything you need in the event you need it.
If you haven’t yet, you can adjust the length of time for which events are recorded. The maximum event length defines how long your camera or doorbell will record each individual event. Here’s how to adjust the maximum event length:
- Open the Home app.
- On the home screen, select your camera.
- Tap Settings > Video.
- Tap Maximum event length and choose a longer event length.
Also, you might want to consider a Nest Aware Plus subscription if you need up to 10 days of continuous 24/7 video history, up to 60 days of event video history clips or you need to record any of the following:
- Everything that happens, even if nothing moves or makes a sound.
- Small animals like cats, squirrels and birds.
- People and objects when they don’t move much, like people sitting and eating.
- Areas with poor or changing lighting, like many outdoor areas.
Please note that Continuous 24/7 video history is only available for wired Google Nest cameras and Nest Doorbell (wired). Not available for Nest Doorbell (battery), even with optional wired installation.
We’re always here to help improve your experience. You’re more than welcome to contact us anytime if you need further assistance: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These cameras suck!!! Before Google bought nest, the nest cameras indoor and out were the absolute best product. Great quality, connectivity and customer support. Poor Connectivity and Poor Battery Life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have several of these cameras and regret purchasing them. Don't expect to be able to use them as security cameras as they are very slow to connect if they even do. The wireless feature is only a selling gimick as the cameras run out of battery quickly and don't operate well on battery in colder climates.

After 1 year +.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't get these. 7/10 when working. Clarity is decent. At night meh. Biggest factor is after a yeae battery is atrocious. Maybe 2-3 days. And due to google going with some terrible cable system. Not easy to hard wire. Nor is charging fast. 5-8hours with no cameras. What is the point? I would sale on sale only and with low expectations. Sadly.

MISSING NEST FEATURES! READ THIS BEFORE BUYING!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are a previous Nest user, you will be let frustrated: You cannot access the new genreation of NEST cameras from the NEST app! Even worse -- you can not access this camera from a browser. So, you must user the Home app to see this new camera, and if you're like me, you will have to now use TWO APPS to access your Nest devices. (for example, Google Temp sensors do not appear in the Home app, and probably a few other devices I would reckon).

Posted .Hi RobRud, thanks for sharing your experience with the Nest Cam (Battery). We're sorry to hear that the two different apps for your other Nest devices are causing inconvenience.
The new Nest Cam (Battery) is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

Never again...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this camera in hopes that it will work with the Nest App. Nope! Given that this is a Nest design, I assumed it would be sturdy and robust. Nope! The camera frequently misses activity, hangs itself, quickly runs out of battery (even when it's plugged in) and the recharging takes forever. I've had the unit replaced by Google but these are the same issues. If I had known these flaws are core to its design, I would've stayed with my Wyze cameras and put in an SD card.

Horrible Dont Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very misleading, they make you believe its a Nest product, but once you open and unbox it say goodbye to the Nest app you have been using for years, it's not compatible, Now I have to use several apps to check my home cameras. the battery life is horrible, it says you can get up to a month before you have to recharge it. NOT TRUE, my camera on the back porch which has virtually no movement needs recharged every 2 weeks. I am very disappointed and if i still had my box I would return them. guess I have to eat this one

Not an upgrade for current Nest Camera users.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Google Nest ecosystem taking a huge step backwards. Connecting these cameras require you to use the Google Home app, which is infuriating to use. They try to be a super app and fails spectacularly. For background, I have this outdoors, wired, Nest Aware+, Wifi 6 mesh, 1Gbps internet. 1. Google Home is too cluttered and has poor control. I don't want to see my 25 lightbulbs in my house in the same screen as all my cameras, thermostats, and speakers. - I use the Hue app to control my lights because it better organized for that function. - I use the Sonos app for my speakers. - Nest for my cameras. 2. Google Home has really bad nest camera interface. The Nest application is far more user friendly, has more control, and lets me scrub through the video timeline easily. If you have a busy camera location, good luck parsing through all those event clips. The Home apps only lets you browse through events (event if you have nest aware and 24/7 recording enabled). The thumbnails take forever to load and it is a PITA to go through. High speed scrubbing on video feed is amazingly convenient and the Home app completely misses here. 3. No anti-tamper mechanism and power cable This new camera is mountable only through magnets. Worse is they recommend mounting 6-8ft from the ground. The power cable option loops out forwards creating this unsightly cable loop. There is no option to connect the cable through the back, into the wall, for hidden wire installation. The previous nest camera outdoor IQ wins on almost every point still and I'm so disappointed they're no for sale anywhere.

Posted .Hi dear Shopper, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We’re sorry to hear that your experience using the new Nest Cam (Battery) was not ideal but we appreciate learning your reasons why.
We’re aware that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app, however, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. Our teams are working on enabling the ability to setup and control older Nest cameras in the Home app so users will have one app to control all of their devices, and we’re working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app as we want to create an integrated experience with other Nest and smart home devices.
We'd love to share that the Nest Cam (Battery) is more secure with features such as tamper detection and additional accessories such as tamper proof mounts. You can use the Anti-Theft accessory (sold separately) to secure the Nest Cam to the wall. Using the magnets in both the base and the mount, it can detect when Nest Cam battery is being tampered with. Tamper detection is a feature that sounds an alarm and alerts the user when your device is being removed from the mount and is designed to provide peace of mind about potential device theft.
