Good clear picture but Google has ruined the great old Dropcam application that they bought out to start their Google Next Camera sales. The old access was much easier to view and use. And Google made the $350 Dropcam obsolete, forcing me to buy bigger ugly white Google Nest cameras. The new cameras are huge and anything but discrete. I painted mine dark brown to blend in with my home which voids the warranty according to Google. Why are these only available in a bright white?

Super disappointed in the performance of this camera. The video quality is great, when it actually captures video. I have this mounted above the garage door to watch our driveway, I would say that it picks up about 70% of the actual movement that goes by the camera. Many times we have come home and completely misses the car pulling in the garage. When it does capture an event, it misses the first half of the action almost every time. I have all the settings to max out the amount of video over battery. Just can't count on it capturing everything like our Nest doorbell. That doorbell performs like I hoped this would. Would NOT get this again if I had the choice.
Hi Justin, thanks for sharing your feedback with our support team. We're sorry to hear about your disappointment with the camera performance for Nest Cam (Battery).
Motion detection on Nest Cam (Battery) can be affected by changes in the light level, and shadows moving across the frame like when a cloud moves in front of the sun. This also includes other movements within the camera's field of view like trees or bushes swaying. If you're not getting any alerts or notifications, we recommend trying out the steps below: 1. Change the Activity Zones on your camera. You can delete your existing Activity Zone and create a new one in any area within your camera's field of view. Just make sure that none of the zones you create overlap. 2. Change the angle of your camera and account for the lighting in the surrounding area. 3. Restart your Camera.
We'd like to help you troubleshoot the motion detection issue further with your Nest Cam (Battery). If you´re willing to try, please contact our support team so we can provide further assistance using this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Needs more battery life because I've had it for less than a year and have had to charge them about 8 times already. They also get knocked off line easily for no apparent reason. Great quality and viewing range.

Hello there, JayT. Thanks for sharing your experience with the Nest Cam (battery). We’re glad that you like its quality and viewing range, but we're sorry to hear you ran into these issues with the battery life along with its magnetic mount. We’d be happy to share your feedback with the right team for future improvements
Meanwhile, the battery life depends on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Check this link for more details: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10901611
Also, we suggest using the secure loop accessory, which is a cable that connects your camera to the magnetic mount and will help prevent your camera from falling if it gets knocked off the mount. If your Nest Cam (battery) did not include a secure loop in the box, please contact us to request one. Alternatively, you can use the Wasserstein anti-theft mount, which can be available at your retailer, and provides anti-theft protection in addition to anti-drop protection.

These cameras are great especially if you have already bought into the google ecosystem. They are pretty expensive but were very simple to setup. There are only two big issues. You have to pay for 24/7 recording and the battery life is no where close to advertised. Im sure you could get close if you restricted video recording a lot, but defeats the point of the camera. So a power cable is a extra must buy. And as others have mentioned this three pack only comes with one short charger cable, not 3.
Hey there, Jacob. We’re glad that you like the Nest Cam (battery) and how it integrates with the Google ecosystem. We hear your concerns about the battery life and recording feature along with having one charging cable for the multi-pack cameras.
A single cable is included because cameras typically require charging at different times. This is due to factors like how often events occur, what the camera sees, and your chosen sensitivity and recording duration settings.
Meanwhile, you can connect your camera to a power outlet with the included power adapter for continuous power so you can avoid charging the camera more often than you should, which is also required to get 24/7 recording. And as we're always evaluating and refining our products based on customer’s feedback and industry trends, we’ve included three hours of event history right out of the box for the first time ever. Additionally, the Nest Aware (2nd gen) covers all cameras and doorbells added on the same home structure. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Cam (battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use, and we suggest using a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately).

Im giving this a 4 star. It would have been 5 if it fit my purpose but not giving it a 1 because it doen't fit my need. We got this to replace the wired camera that we use to monitor my sons room. I fully charged it before use and it hasnt been a full day yet and I'm down to 60%. I like the quality & video clarity and features though. I'm taking them back because its just not for us.

Hi 19ant89, we're glad to hear that you like Nest Cam (Battery). We're sorry to hear about the fast discharging issue you are experiencing.
Battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. Users can extend the battery life of their camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios for your Nest Cam (Battery): Busy: About 1.5 months battery life (about 20 - 25 recorded events per day) Typical: About 3 months battery life (about 9 - 12 recorded events per day) Quiet: About 7 months battery life (about 2 - 4 recorded events per day)
We recommend checking the frequency of events (per day) that you get with your Nest Cam (Battery). If the short battery life isn´t related to the frequency of events, then we may need to have a closer look at your device and understand what may be causing it. We recommend contacting our support team for further assistance by visiting us here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Very easy to install and setup in the Google home app. Satisfied with video quality and overall product. Very very disappointed in the lack of integration with the nest app. Unfortunately I’m all in on the meet cameras. If I were in the position that this was my first camera purchase I would definitely buy into the Arlo family.

Hi Jobe, thanks for posting a review about your Nest Cam (Battery). We’re sorry to learn that you're disappointed in the lack of integration with the Nest app.
You can view your existing Nest cameras alongside with the new Nest Cams in the Google Home app. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place. Also, using the Google Home app provides you with a lot of benefits including access to Google's trusted security platform and access to other Google tools and with seamless integration with other Google devices.

I have several wired Nest cameras and have been wanting to add a few more to the exterior of the house where bringing power to them would be a real project. I bought this two pack and single pack and within an hour had all three mounted, connected to the app, tested and positioned. I'm impressed with the video quality and the battery life. These cameras are not recording 24/7. They only come on when motion is detected. That is how they manage the battery charge. Battery life is reported in the app where it indicates percentage and approximately how many weeks more of battery life each camera has before needing a recharge. I installed all of them on October 2nd. It's now October 23. The most active camera positioned on the driveway has 6 more weeks (71%) battery life. The other two positioned at the rear of the home still have 8 and 11 months (more than 90%) battery life. For having them up and outdoors for three weeks, the battery life is better than expected.

Camera quality is fantastic, but I wish the app was a little more robust. I would prefer to "ignore" familiar faces and only show the ones not recognized. I like how sturdy the construction is and the ease of setup is fantastic.

Google nest camera worked perfect. It paired up perfectly with my ring doorbell camera so I only have 1 APP that I use to view my camera activity. The installation was easy and quick by the GEEK SQUAD installers.

Do not like it, Goes out of focus, terrible night vision, horrible app, won’t work unless surface is magnetic, set up easy and easy charging overall it sucks
Hello there, JP01. We appreciate your feedback and we’re sorry to hear that your experience with the Nest cam (battery) is below your satisfaction. We suggest using the included wall mount for surfaces like walls. Simply attach the wall plate with the included screws, then secure the magnetic plate onto the backplate. Both of these mounting options let you power your camera with any power accessory like the weatherproof cables, or run it on battery power.
Also, we recommend having the latest version of the Google Home app that may improve camera playback controls to make it easier to play, pause, and navigate between events from the camera history view. Also, adjusting the camera settings like video quality, wake-up sensitivity, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas, can help improve your experience. And for the night vision, try to angle your camera away from bright lights, or to install the camera in a shady spot. You should also make sure that any nearby surfaces or objects (like a wall) are out of view, since the camera’s infrared light can reflect off a surface. Other tips on how to improve the night vision feature can be found here:: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9259738

Good but not great. I love the Google products but I have the previous generation outdoor Nest cameras and they perform better than these. Perhaps I just need to keep them plugged in instead of the wireless option. The Nest App is better instead of the new Google Home app, which doesn’t give you a preview of the video, you have to open the app and view the clips.
