No connection issues whatsoever so far, works as it should. Only Cons are, battery life doesnt last more than a month is you have it placed in a high foot traffic area. And mine did not come with the safety wire to attach the camera to the base. Other than that i recommend google home products to everyone. If they could lower the price on these cameras they would be more popular.

Nest has long been focused on delivering quality products to our customers. We’re also focused on giving our customers value for the price, including three hours of event history right out of the box for the first time ever. On-device processing also gives our customers smart alerts and Activity Zones, which historically have required a subscription.
Meanwhile, the battery life depends on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. If you still have to charge the battery more often than you’d like, you might want to consider connecting your camera to a power outlet with the included or optional power adapter. Connecting to continuous power will keep the battery charged. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Cam (battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use and you can use a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately).

I have yet to have an issue logging in and seeing live video. I also signed up for the premium storage online and live that.

Great For Google Lovers - Google Home Software Lac

Many features such as video time scanning and clips creations are missing. No complaints of the cameras build quality or video feed. Think the shortcomings of the Google Home software can easily be remedied as long as Google is willing to fix the software. For those users that currently have Nest cameras and want to add to their arsenal of security cameras I'm sorry to say that these are not compatible with the Nest App and MUST be viewed within the Google Home app (lacking software features currently found in Nest app).

Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams. Over time the charging cable has issues connecting well to the small contacts so you have to clean them each time you pull the camera down.

Posted .Hey there, JFred. We’re glad you’re enjoying the Nest Cam (Battery). That being said, we hear your concern with having to clean the connector. Over time, your outdoor camera may collect dust, pollen, water spots, and other debris. Here’s how to clean it properly:
1. Unplug your camera from the power outlet.
2. Moisten a soft cloth with water and a little dish soap.
3. Hold your camera steady and gently wipe its surface clean with a cloth. Keep soap off the lens.
4. Rinse the cloth and wipe down the surfaces again to remove any remaining soap.
5. Plug your camera back in.

My only complaint is battery life, doesn’t last long on balanced setting. I already purchased cable, so it’s hard wired now.

Slowly been replacing the old nest cameras. I just wish they had the same fuctions as the old nest cameras but the new features are good as well.

Doesn't record movement or notify. Someone hit our trash cans and the camera didn't record anything. Only good for live viewing.

On average here’s how long the battery will last on a single charge:
Busy - About 1 month battery life (about 25 - 30 recorded events per day)
Typical - About 2.5 months battery life (about 13 - 16 recorded events per day)
Quiet - About 6 months battery life (about 2 - 5 recorded events per day)
Here are a few tips to conserve battery:
1. Optimize its video quality.
2. Shorten the length of time for which events are recorded.
3. Take longer to begin recording between events.

It outdoor installation required you will need a power source 15-30ft away along with purchasing the weather rated power cable. For residential use, you can’t go wrong with these. The google home app and plan for $120 a year that records everything is worth every penny. The mounts are magnetic based with an adapter for mounting purposes. Installing indoor in a commercial application would be acceptable. Outdoor commercial installation I'm still pondering that.

It can be used with a set of various power accessories including two weatherproof cables with power adapter (sold separately), of 16 ft and 33 ft in length. If you find it more convenient connecting to continuous power that will keep the battery charged, which is required to get 24/7 video history if you have a Nest Aware Plus subscription, we suggest using the weatherproof cable since the included power adapter is not intended for outdoor use.
