I charged one fully and place on the front of the house and with less than 12 alerts a day and checking in a few times it estimates 4 months till recharge. The one on back porch that see nothing most of the time says 7 months till recharge. I also love that they are so easy to move around and relocate if you want.

Motion detection for Nest Cam (Battery) can be affected by changes in the light level, and shadows moving across the frame like when a cloud moves in front of the sun. This also includes other movements within the camera's field of view like trees or bushes swaying. If you're not getting any alerts or notifications, we recommend trying out the steps below:
1. Change the Activity Zones on your camera. You can delete your existing Activity Zone and create a new one in any area within your camera's field of view. Just make sure that none of the zones you create overlap.
2. Change the angle of your camera and account for the lighting in the surrounding area.
3. Restart your Camera.

In the dead of winter, the battery lasted 4 months on a moderately busy street, an outcome which I was very happy with. Looking forward for the Google Home app update that makes it easier to scroll etc but so far no complaints. Worth it for the sale price I paid

I’m impressed with the clarity and the distance it captures. I’ve been able to look at recordings and can see license plates and can see details of strangers passing along the perimeter of my home. For the price, totally worth it. I’ve bought and used ADT cameras that can’t compare to the quality I get from the Google cameras. I totally recommend it.

Outside ones last me about two weeks if not more. Inside ones about a weekd. I have mine recording all the time. These cameras will not consistently record unless they are connected to a wall outlet.

Yes you have to use the Google Home app. I honestly don’t see why this is such a big deal to some people. The cameras catch and record more with better sensitivity if you have them connected to a power source, but for the areas where this isn’t possible they are suitable. I have one on my front porch wired, adding another to the side for battery and I just ordered the floodlight for the back yard. Very happy.
