Great camera, easy to mount. The videos are clear during both day and night.
Hey there, CristaL. Sorry to see you’re having trouble setting up your Nest Cam (Battery) — Here’s some solutions to get the best connection:
1. Move your camera, router, or other objects that may interfere with the device. 2. Restart your camera or doorbell. 3. Check your internet bandwidth and speed.

Love how easy it was to setup and have integrated into a Google Home. Great battery life. The only downside is the range for how far away movement will trigger a recording event. I have a driveway about 60ft from the mounting point on the house and it seems like the max distance movement will trigger a recording is 30ft.

Hello there, Tyler. It’s great to hear that the setup of your Nest Cam (battery) went easy, and that you like its battery life. We hear your concern about the event detection feature.
Event detection depends on the camera settings that you select. You can choose which events your camera or doorbell can detect and record (people, motion, package, etc.). From there, you (and each member of your home) can decide which of those events to get notifications for. If an event is turned off, you won’t get notifications for that kind of activity. You can also change the settings like adjusting video quality, wake-up sensitivity, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas.

It's ok. I expected better.
It doesn't seem to allow me to hook it up to the old nest app where my doorbell is connected. The nest app lets me keep record all the time.
The google app only records when it is triggered and simply is not as useful as the doorbell camera, in comparison.
Also, if you don't plan on having it always plugged in, it also kinda sucks.
Hi UserX, thanks for sharing the details of your feedback on Nest Cam (battery), and we’re sorry to hear your expectations are not met.
The new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays, your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, and Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control, as our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app.
We’re not moving away from 24/7 video history. Our goal is to give users more choice. With event video history, we wanted our products to help you understand what’s going on at home easily and highlight the important activity for you. If you want to see everything that happens at home, we offer 24/7 video history on wired Nest Cams with a Nest Aware Plus subscription. We continue to invest in the use of both technologies.

Happy with the picture quality and cloud features, as I have several other Nest cameras. Battery life was abysmal though. Getting a non-wired camera I knew I would need to charge the camera every once in a while. But it felt like every few days I was getting the notification that my camera battery was low. I ended up returning the cameras.

I have 10 of these bad boys, along with the new google nest doorbell!
Easy install, easy setup, easy maintenance, and easy to use in the google home app;
Good quality, good video motion and clarity;
Battery life is as expected on the highest video settings, highest motion sensitivity, longest event recordings. Battery takes about an hour to recharge when completely dead,

This camera sucks. I have 2 outdoor Nest wired cameras and I absolutely love them. I bought those years ago before Google and Nest merged.
First, this camera cannot be added to your Nest app. I have read that the Nest app is going away and the Google home app will be the new one to use, but the Google home app sucks. The Nest app shows your cameras in one view when you open it. On the Google home app, you have to click on the camera to see the views. That's too many clicks and I can't see all my cameras in one view like on the Nest app.
Second, the battery life sucks! We get maybe 5-6 days of battery out of this camera. Charging it once a week is just not feasible.
I read online that this camera is a Google camera with a Nest logo and I feel like that's accurate. This is not as high-quality as my other Nest cameras. If I could return it, I would.

Good if there is no outside electrical outlet. It's a bit of a pain when it gets colder and you have to recharge more often. Also, I had a better experience with the Nest/ Google Home App with the Wired Nest Cameras in the past, as they allow you to track longer than 3-4 hours (Wired version lets you store up to 14 days I believe.)

Hi there VxxS, thanks for sharing your experience with us on Nest Cam (Battery). We're sorry to hear that you're recharging it more than usual, during the colder season.
During winter, the battery life of Nest Doorbell (Battery) may have less than half the life that it has at temperatures close to -4°F (-20°C). Keep in mind that the battery life may vary since it will still depend on factors including activity, temperature, and selected camera settings.
Nest Cam (battery) can accommodate up to 10 days of continuous video recording (CVR) and 24/7 video history, and you can even get 60 days of event video history, if hardwired to power and subscribed to Nest Aware Plus ($12 a month for all of your cameras, speakers, and displays on the same home structure).
Please consider contacting our support team for any other questions or support concerns you would like us to address with your Google Nest products. We'd be happy to assist you here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

An Outdoor Camera?

This is not exactly what I was expecting when I purchased it but it has turned out to be something I'm enjoying. The thing that really stood out for me was in the instructions where it mentions that the camera is not waterproof, only weatherproof. Hmm... an outdoor camera that isn't waterproof?? Maybe I didn't read the description carefully enough before I bought it. I ended up finding a protected spot for it that works well but that really stunned me. After a month of use, so far, so good.
