Waited for these to be available due to the improvements to the previous generation and am disappointed. They are indoor, but do not have an "indoor" mount included, thats a $40+ extra and they dont sit level and the base isnt flat. They come with 1 charging cable, which makes no sense, battery or not as I would prefer to leave them plugged in. If you want them weather resistant, that also requires a different cable. For the price, I expected way more and will be returning them for a set of Arlo cameras.

A little quirky but does the job. The Arlo Cams are better in my opinion especially the user interface much better. The battery is not the best either in high traffic areas..

I have been pleased with these after a month of use. Because they're battery-powered, I chose easily accessible mount locations so that recharging isn't a recurring miserable process. The video quality is a good as expected.

Very not impressed by how quickly the battery dies. It seemed to last longer at first and now I have to charge roughly every other day… but it is in my chicken run so I can check on them while I am at work.
Hi APeake, thanks for your insights. We're sorry to hear that your Nest Cam (Battery) quickly dies out.
Battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. Users can extend the battery life of their camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios for your Nest Cam (Battery): Busy: About 1.5 months battery life (about 20 - 25 recorded events per day) Typical: About 3 months battery life (about 9 - 12 recorded events per day) Quiet: About 7 months battery life (about 2 - 4 recorded events per day)
We recommend checking the frequency of events (per day) that you get with your Nest Cam (Battery). If the short battery life isn´t related to the frequency of events, then we may need to have a closer look at your device and understand what may be causing it. I own all google products and never had a problem with any of them till i bought these. All three refuse to connect to the wifi. Reset and tried multiple times. Called google and that was useless. Called starlink and that was useless. I have done everything that was suggested while trying to research and find a solution with no luck. Supoosed to be an easy setup and its been anything but such.
Hey there, Danatpap. Sorry to hear you’re running into connection issues while setting up your Nest Cam (Battery). Here’s some troubleshooting tips to get your device connected:
1. Make sure you have the latest version of the Google Home app or Nest app to get the latest features and bug fixes. 2. Your main router sometimes has a better connection than your network extenders. Also, if your camera tries to connect to an incompatible extender, it can experience connection issues. 3. Restart your router, modem, and any Wi-Fi range extenders or repeaters that you have.

Let me start and say I am a huge user of Google and Nest products. Some would even say fan boy. I've owned nearly every Nexus/Pixel, have several thousands of $ in Nest IQ cameras (indoor and outdoor) around my property, Nest Hub Maxes, multiple thermostats, Chromecasts etc. To say I'm all in on Google is an understatement to the point of cringe by my family of apple users. I have a large property and needed one area last covered by a cam which was inaccessible due to unavailability of a power source. I had been waiting patiently for Google Nest to catch up to competitors and offer a battery wireless cam. With that being said I don't I could be more disappointed in the new wireless camera. I excitingly unboxed and attempted to add it in the Nest app where I was forced to use the convoluted Home app. I knew there would be an issue when I realized viewing the new wireless camera was not available in Nest App. I am getting notifications from every other nest device in nest as I should and getting notifications for this single camera in the Home App. Extremely annoying as NEST is written all over the box. This might as well be a Ring camera if I wanted to get two separate notifications in two separate apps. I reached out to Google and in fact the new devices (wireless and floodlight cams) are not available in Nest. You will have to review recordings separately in each app. Seriously Google? Another annoying aspect is if you try to view this camera on the web version of home.nest.com if will not be available. If you looking for a single camera or not this deep into the Nest game it might be ok for you. I do however feel the night image quality hasn't improved and may have actually decreased between this and my non IQ wired outdoor nest cam. I am now worried how long the thousands I've invested in my property surveillance will be supported as Google is notorious for dropping support after a few years. You severely dropped the ball with this one, Google. Will be returned.
Hi GoogleSuperUser, thanks for the time sharing a feedback with us and for investing on Google products. We're sorry to hear about the issues with the Nest Cam (Battery). We understand how disappointing it can be when your device is not working as you expect it, and having to use two separate apps for your Nest cameras.
New Nest cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place. As for the web version, we’re aware that longtime Nest users enjoy having the option to view their Nest camera feeds from the web, and we are working on adding this experience.
We appreciate you for being a Google advocate, and your input helps us better understand our customers’ needs and preferences better. We hope you give Nest Cam (battery) a chance as we're always working to improve our products and services. If you have any questions or concerns, we’d be more than happy to assist you here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

The camera is good quality and the video is very good.
I am not to haply about the limitations with the nest app (not compatible) and the fact that yoi neesd to have it plugged in to have the recording options.
Hi Francoe, thanks for sharing your feedback. We´re sorry to hear about your disappointment with the Google Home app and the option to have Nest Cam (Battery).
We understand that you have enjoyed using the Nest app with your Nest cameras. However, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. We wanted to make the Google Home app as the one place you can control all your favorite Nest and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. The new Nest Cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with other Google Nest speakers and displays. Here are some benefits you can get by using the Google Home app with your Nest Cam (Battery): - Automatic security protections such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup. - Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, if you have a Nest Cam and a Nest Hub, just say, "Hey Google, show me the backyard camera” to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup. - One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps. - Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps.
Continuous video recording (CVR) and 24/7 video history requires a lot of power and will certainly drain the battery for your Nest Cam (Battery) in a very short time. Hardwiring it will help fix this limitation.
