The battery generally lasts for 7 days after which I have to bring these down to charge . Since these are wireless cameras, would it be recommended to connect them to a cable/adapter and keep it connected to power 24* 7 ? Does best buy sell a longer power cable that can be used?

You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Check this link for more details: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10901611
Meanwhile, you might want to consider connecting your camera to a power outlet with the included power adapter to keep the battery charged. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Cam (Battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use, and you can use a compatible weatherproof cable (5 meters or 10 meters). Overall the camera is great, I just don't like the fact that Google has made a mess with the old Nest App and Google Home. They need to make up their minds on integrating all cameras be it from Nest or Google. It's a pain switching from Nest app and Google home. If you have older camera's, Google messed up on this integration for now and this was back in 8/24/2021 when I bought this and it is still a mess now.

I wished it had a wider viewing angle like the arlo Ultra 2. Facial recognition is a cool feature. Subscription service is pretty good. $12 a month for unlimited cameras.

This camera was perfect for my outdoor angle, I don't have power in that area. The battery life is great. The magnet and mount was strong enough and held through a strong storm recently.
