There's no fee to stream full resolution live video and receive basic notifications, as long as your camera is connected to the internet. However, you’ll need a Nest Aware subscription to record video and receive advanced notifications. With a Nest Aware subscription your video will be saved to the cloud and you’ll get extra features. Sticks to a magnet out side hold up in all weather conditions doesn’t work so well past -30 degrees but it will tell if it won’t function any more . Long battery life.

Person detection works amazing. Love that it has a battery, so if you lose power, it will save events. Great product, will be buying more.

They are much more responsive with notifications than the older cameras.

Since you pretty much have to plug them in every other day, they are not wireless. They shape of the camera looks chic, but it is not practical. Hard to face camera in exact direction of your choice due to it’s shape. Placement of charging cable is poor as well. When the camera is plugged in, you have limited options on positioning. Since the camera does not hold a charge for long, it must be plugged in often.
