We are considering purchasing another set. We didn't purchase the service to continously record but we do get notified for any movement and we can save the recording. It only keeps 3 hrs then deletes.

First One Crapped Out After 1yr, Used My Warranty, Got A New One For Free. Second One Crapped Out After 12 Days. Went To Best Buy (which they’re amazing!) & Swapped It Out Yet Again (Because It Was Still Within The 14 Day Return Window)… Got A Third New One & Craopex Out After 30 Days!!! Went Back For A Full Refund. Do Not Buy The 2nd Generation Battery Wireless Option Ones!!! They Suck…. Now I Highly Dooooo Recommend Their Wired Nest IQ 1st Generation w/ Face Recognition 4K Outdoor/Indoor Cameras!!! I Have 2 Of Those For Over 6yrs Now & Absolutely No Complaints, Except The Fact That They Discontinued Them!!!

Nest Cam (battery) has a 130° diagonal field of view. To get the camera view you want, you have to adjust the camera’s position by hand. Use the Home app to check the camera’s view so you can adjust the position from the mounting plate if you need to. Also, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. And you can view both your old and new Nest Cams together in the Home app. We request for your patience as we’re working on a seamless solution to create a better user experience. Meanwhile, we suggest having the latest version of the Google Home app that may improve camera playback controls to make it easier to play, pause, and navigate between events from the camera history view for cameras set up in the Google Home app.

It also is capable of seeing in low light enviornments. It learns faces and notifies you when they are spotted. Very nice addition to my security system!

There are some compute limitations on some versions of Chromecast that do not allow us to support this yet, but we’re aiming to add support as soon as possible as the team continuously evaluates additional features. You can adjust the video quality settings so you can choose how much your internet connection gets used by the Nest camera to stream live video. The higher quality setting is, the more bandwidth is used. But no matter which option you pick, both your camera and the app will automatically adjust its resolution to work with the available bandwidth. Here’s how:
- Open the Home app.
- Touch and hold your device's tile.
- At the top right, tap Settings.
- Choose Video.
- Under “Video quality,” choose Max or High
