For slow display, we could be looking at a possible connectivity issue that affects the overall performance of your Nest Cam. It can be caused by different factors like location and distance of Nest Cam, Wi-Fi router, outdated phone and Google Home app. This may also be caused by Wi-Fi network congestion and Wi-Fi interference with other devices and/or networks. Removing other devices from your Wi-Fi might help. You can also try setting up your device on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands and see which band is more reliable.

While we’re continuing to support the Nest app, our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. Using the Google Home app provides a lot of benefits including access to Google's trusted security platform and access to other Google tools and with seamless integration with other Google devices. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams.

Hi EthaDonW, thanks for leaving a review to let us know about your experience with the Nest Doorbell (Battery). We can see that having issues with event detection and with notifications of the doorbell can be disappointing.

Your camera runs algorithms to process video and audio data so it can determine whether it detected something you might want to know about. If you only need your camera to detect people, animals, or moving vehicles, we recommend that you do not turn on the basic motion and sound detection feature. Also, Nest camera notifications are a little different. You can choose to receive notifications for everything your camera detects, or choose notifications for only certain types of activity. If you’ve turned on critical alerts, you should receive some push notifications even when your phone is set to Do Not Disturb. You can create Activity Zones to cover areas in your camera’s view that you care about, and choose the type of motion you want to be notified of for each zone. You might have to move your camera, change your camera’s angle, or change something in the scene so that you don’t miss important activity.
