Picture quality is great and I like that I can set zones to only capture certain areas.

- Typical - About 3 months battery life (about 9 - 12 recorded events per day)

We suggest using the included wall mount for surfaces like walls. Simply attach the wall plate with the included screws, then secure the magnetic plate onto the backplate. Both of these mounting options let you power your camera with any power accessory like the weatherproof cables, or run it on battery power.
Also, we recommend having the latest version of the Google Home app that may improve camera playback controls to make it easier to play, pause, and navigate between events from the camera history view. Also, adjusting the camera settings like video quality, wake-up sensitivity, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas, can help improve your experience. And for the night vision, try to angle your camera away from bright lights, or to install the camera in a shady spot. You should also make sure that any nearby surfaces or objects (like a wall) are out of view, since the camera’s infrared light can reflect off a surface. Since then there had been an update that altered the recording image. Colors look a bit pale and quality does look diminished. Another thing is that the motion detection range is a bit narrow compared to its competitors. You need to stand pretty close until it begins to record. As far as the positives •Its pretty easy to setup and install •Battery life is not bad. (about 3 1/2 weeks before recharge) •The subscription plan is good for all nest cam devices and any future devices you want to add under one single price.

It's easy to install and the charge lasts a really long time. Besides the app, I can even monitor and watch the cameras through a browser online wherever I am with an internet connection! This is fantastic. I installed it myself, so it is battery powered and I need to occasionally charge it. I plan on buying more cameras and having them professionally installed so that they are wired and don't need to be brought in for charging.

New Google Camera's are obnoxiously huge

The old access was much easier to view and use. And Google made the $350 Dropcam obsolete, forcing me to buy bigger ugly white Google Nest cameras. The new cameras are huge and anything but discrete. I painted mine dark brown to blend in with my home which voids the warranty according to Google. Why are these only available in a bright white?

Very easy to install and set up. I find that the camera in battery mode only has hesitation in recording motion and misses or has partial event recordings. I recommend using the power cable( additional cost) which corrects this issue.

Also, the only places you can see a stream for the cameras is on a nest hub, or your cell phone. I thought itd work with chromecast but it doesn’t.

- Check for possible congestion in your Wi-Fi network. Removing some of your connected devices can help free up some bandwidth space. You may then check to see if you will still experience the same connectivity issue. Once you verify congestion, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider to check your connection and upgrade it if needed.
- You may also check for possible sources of interference such as the thick walls and appliances in your home.
Unfortunately, Nest Cam (battery) can only stream to a smart display screen. However, we value your feedback and we'll certainly take this information into consideration and pass them along to the right team.
