We had bought the arlo pro 3 or 4 first and had issues from the beginning, not to mention horrible tech support from arlo team. The nest cams we probably had ready and mounted within minutes. Love the alerts, and the convenience of being able to check on the house, especially during trips.

Also only records when you are viewing the camera in the Google Home app. I took these back and lucked out in finding the Nest Outdoor camera and hardwired it to an outlet which provides constant monitoring.

Would be better if it worked with Nest environment

Had wanted it to be in the same ecosystem as my other products, both cameras and thermostats Other than that a good idea, that needs rounding off !

Additionally this product only comes with one charger for 3 cameras. Terrible product

The battery life on the Nest doorbell (battery) will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and selected camera settings. On average here’s how long the battery will last on a single charge:
Busy - About 1 month battery life (about 25 - 30 recorded events per day)
Typical - About 2.5 months battery life (about 13 - 16 recorded events per day)
Quiet - About 6 months battery life (about 2 - 5 recorded events per day)
Here’s a few tips to conserve battery:
1. Optimize its video quality.
2. Shorten the length of time for which events are recorded.
3. Take longer to begin recording between events.

Simple to set up and super easy to manage. Lots of analytics to play around with including adjusting camera zones and motion detection

In addition, one of the three cameras wouldn't boot up after numerous tries on multiple networks. I brought back to Best Buy and was told I couldn't exchange for a single camera and instead needed to go take down the other two and return all three. . . and then start over again. Very frustrating

If the device won’t connect to the Google Home app, press the button on the back of your camera once and wait for it to restart. Nest App was far better and easier to use. IDK how Google can buy Nest yet not use the Nest App. Or at least copy it. I might end up returning these because I like the Nest App far much better and go with something else. Google, fix this. I mean, you are Google!!

I was very excited for the new ones but there is very little new and a lot to dislike. The video is the same if not worse than the originals. Forcing us into the goole home app instead of the Nest app was the final straw. Returning these, canceling my nest aware plus subscription and going with another ecosystem sadly.

The video quality can be adjusted in settings to balance high resolution video with longer battery life and lower bandwidth use. For optimal video quality at 1080p, an internet connection upload speed with at least 2 Mbps per camera is recommended (DSL may not qualify). Please check the steps below:
- Open the Home app Google Home app.
- Select your camera.
- Tap Settings Video.
- Under “Video quality,” tap High.
Using a Google Home app provides you with a lot of benefits including access to Google's trusted security platform and access to other Google tools. Also, it provides you with seamless integration with your other Google devices. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams.
