Just in the last hour it has lost 5% battery life. I dont understand how this is sustainable long term. This is 100% being returned. Google you can do better than this… Your new camera is garbage.

Our goal with the Google Home app was to make it the one place where you can control all your favorite Nest devices and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. Here are some benefits you can get by using the Google Home app with your Nest Cam (Battery):
- Automatic security protections, such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup.
- Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, if you have a Nest Cam and a Nest Hub, just say, "Hey Google, show me the backyard camera” to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup.
- One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps.
- Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps.

You can extend the battery life by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. However, the battery life for your Nest Cam (Battery) can be affected by factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. Here are some typical scenarios:
Busy: About 1.5 months battery life (about 20-25 recorded events per day)
Typical: About 3 months battery life (about 9-12 recorded events per day)

And it is. Works as expected - easily and simply. Works better with a power source but it’s good to have the option of the battery.

During the day they work great. The problem is at night now. With little to no light even with night vision off the cameras worked great June 2022 to August 2023. From September 2023 to date Nov. 2023 the camera have to go black and white. Having it on color looks blurry and useless. I wish they’d go back to working the way they did prior but only time will tell.

A black and white picture during daytime typically means that Night Vision is set to “Always On”. Try to change the Night Vision setting to “Auto”. Change the angle or position of your camera so the sun never shines directly on the lens. For example, angle your camera slightly downward or give it some shade to protect its lens from direct sunlight. Move nearby objects that may reflect the sunlight, if possible.

These do not work with the Nest app, they kind of work with Google Home. Took me 7 hours ( most on tech with support) to finally get both cameras working. You can’t continuously record unless you are plugged in and they only come with one plug. Frame rate is awful. They work intermittently. I would never buy again and I certainly would not migrate my existing Nest account to Google home. The Google Home app is garbage compared to the Neat app. This is not a reliable solution for a cordless camera

The lithium-ion battery in your Nest Cam (battery) won't be able to charge if the temperatures are below freezing. Lithium-ion batteries are used for their high power and long life, but are also affected by temperatures below freezing. We recommend the following minimum temperatures for your device:
- Minimum operating temperature: -20 °C (-4 °F)
- Minimum charging temperature: 0 °C (32 °F)
