And our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app, so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place. Also, using the Google Home app provides you with a lot of benefits including access to Google's trusted security platform and access to other Google tools and with seamless integration with other Google devices and devices from other brands.

We’re aware that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app, however, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. Our teams are working on enabling the ability to setup and control older Nest cameras in the Home app so users will have one app to control all of their devices, and we’re working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app as we want to create an integrated experience with other Nest and smart home devices.

We'd love to share that the Nest Cam (Battery) is more secure with features such as tamper detection and additional accessories such as tamper proof mounts. You can use the Anti-Theft accessory (sold separately) to secure the Nest Cam to the wall. Using the magnets in both the base and the mount, it can detect when Nest Cam battery is being tampered with. Tamper detection is a feature that sounds an alarm and alerts the user when your device is being removed from the mount and is designed to provide peace of mind about potential device theft.

To extend the battery life, we suggest adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Also, connecting your camera to a power outlet with the included power adapter for continuous power will keep the battery charged. Please note that the optional power adapter is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use, and you can use a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately).

Nest has long been focused on delivering quality products to our customers. We’re also focused on giving our customers value for the price, including three hours of event history right out of the box for the first time ever. On-device processing also gives our customers smart alerts and Activity Zones, which historically have required a subscription. There's no fee to stream full resolution live video and receive basic notifications, as long as your camera is connected to the internet. However, you’ll need a Nest Aware subscription to record video and receive advanced notifications. With a Nest Aware subscription your video will be saved to the cloud and you’ll get extra features. Using the Google Home app provides you with a lot of benefits and features. We also wanted to make it the one place where you can control all your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, and the Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Also, here are some benefits you can get by using the Google Home app:
- Automatic security protections such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup.
- Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, if you have a Nest Cam and a Nest Hub, just say, "Hey Google, show me the backyard camera” to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup.
- One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps.
- Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps.

Motion detection on Nest Cam (Battery) can be affected by changes in the light level, and shadows moving across the frame like when a cloud moves in front of the sun. This also includes other movements within the camera's field of view like trees or bushes swaying. If you're not getting any alerts or notifications, we recommend trying out the steps below:
1. Change the Activity Zones on your camera. You can delete your existing Activity Zone and create a new one in any area within your camera's field of view. Just make sure that none of the zones you create overlap.
2. Change the angle of your camera and account for the lighting in the surrounding area.
3. Restart your Camera.

- Make sure your Nest Cam (Battery) is within the range of your router.
- Ensure that your network isn't congested to have a stable feed. Connectivity issues may happen if there is not enough bandwidth on the network.

It's most likely that the issue may be related to a connectivity issue between your Nest Cam (Battery) and mobile phone. We recommend ensuring that your mobile phone is connected to your Wi-Fi network and that the mobile or cellular data for your mobile phone is disabled. We also recommend placing your Nest Cam (Battery) nearer to your router and mobile phone and that it is in a clear line of sight from your router. This will ensure both your mobile phone and Nest Cam (Battery) get a strong Wi-Fi signal from your router.
