They also get knocked off line easily for no apparent reason. Great quality and viewing range.

Also, we suggest using the secure loop accessory, which is a cable that connects your camera to the magnetic mount and will help prevent your camera from falling if it gets knocked off the mount. If your Nest Cam (battery) did not include a secure loop in the box, please contact us to request one. Alternatively, you can use the Wasserstein anti-theft mount, which can be available at your retailer, and provides anti-theft protection in addition to anti-drop protection.

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We originally wanted 2 cameras but since there was a sale for 3 we spent a little extra. 2 are mounted outdoors and we kept the other 1 indoor to monitor the dog when we leave her alone. If she starts to bark or howl due to loneliness, we can talk to her on our phone app which gives her reassurance. The cameras are very clear on our phone app and we can also hear very well. It's a great product that took little installation.

Here is an example; if you have to do things like update your WIFI Router/Internet, and you change the WIFI name you will need to treat every Google Home product as new and INDIVIDUALLY RESET TO MANUFACTURER and resync the Google product with the WIFI. The Google suggested workaround is to use the exact same WIFI name as you did previously, but is that reasonable? And our new provider wouldn't accept "_" so we couldn't use the same titling. One of the products is hardwired and on the top of our garage. It's just absolutely ridiculous and I have not resynced/reset it because it's such a big task to now have to do (just to perform an update to the WIFI name/PW). This specific product's battery failed after a few months and would only function by using it hard wired. I would not recommend.

It’s up but not totally satisfied

Needed to buy solar panels. Bulky. Paid for install and they just screwed it in the place it’s magnetically sticks. Don’t pay for install waste of money.

Picture quality is great and I like that I can set zones to only capture certain areas.

I have it in a great wifi signal area and sometimes the app tells me the camera is off. I restart the app and it works. Other than that im pretty happy with it.

Hardware surpasses the software, but just barely

I would prefer to "ignore" familiar faces and only show the ones not recognized. I like how sturdy the construction is and the ease of setup is fantastic.

They are pretty expensive but were very simple to setup. There are only two big issues. You have to pay for 24/7 recording and the battery life is no where close to advertised. Im sure you could get close if you restricted video recording a lot, but defeats the point of the camera. So a power cable is a extra must buy. And as others have mentioned this three pack only comes with one short charger cable, not 3.

A single cable is included because cameras typically require charging at different times. This is due to factors like how often events occur, what the camera sees, and your chosen sensitivity and recording duration settings.
Meanwhile, you can connect your camera to a power outlet with the included power adapter for continuous power so you can avoid charging the camera more often than you should, which is also required to get 24/7 recording. And as we're always evaluating and refining our products based on customer’s feedback and industry trends, we’ve included three hours of event history right out of the box for the first time ever. Additionally, the Nest Aware (2nd gen) covers all cameras and doorbells added on the same home structure. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Cam (battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use, and we suggest using a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately).

Very solid outdoor webcam without subscription

After some research I found this one and I actually liked it. Here are the reasons 1. You don't want to pay the subscription and you don't need to check/tore video way back in the timeline 2. Solid build (in fact heavier than others) and the battery runs 6 weeks (within 25-50F ranges) 3. The video quality is good and I really like face recognition feature 4. I like the integration with nest hub display where I can watch the live feed with voice command On the flip side, it might look expensive to begin with but the subscription cost from other devices will help you to decide. The setup with the nest app can be tricky so follow the steps carefully and contact support online if you get any problem but don't skip any steps.

Easy to Install, Drains Battery Quickly

Overall the quality of the video is great, but the Google Home app takes too long to load and view. Also the camera on my front door drains rapidly so I will have to hardwire the camera.

We recommend removing some of your connected devices to free up some bandwidth space, and checking to see if you will still experience the same long loading times when streaming the video feed from your Nest camera. Once you verify congestion, we recommend contacting your Internet service provider to check your connection and upgrade your bandwidth if needed.
