Nest camera

Only issue is that you have to view it through google app and not the best app. So now I have 2 apps that send notifications and if when viewing I have ti do the same

We understand your concern in having to check two different apps instead of just one. If you have Nest aware, it will only save 24/7 if it is connected to power supply. Unless it is set up within a couple of feet of an outlet, you'll need to buy the 5 or 10 meter extension as the connector is proprietary.

We still offer 24/7 video history on wired Nest Cams with a Nest Aware Plus subscription, for users who want to see everything that happens at home. And we continue to invest in the use of both technologies. Also, You can connect your camera to a power outlet with the included charging cable for continuous power and to keep the battery charged. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Cam (battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use, and that’s when you can use a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately).

The battery last quite long and you can purchase a plug or solar power panel to keep it charged. I don’t care for the Home app. I prefer the older Nest platform.

Super easy Google Nest Cam Battery

I placed this above the back door of my office to keep an eye on the alley behind. A clear picture and is just what I wanted.

Great outdoor camera

It stuck right to my metal siding so i didnt need to drill any holes and i could move it anytime very easy. The picture is ok was expecting a little more clear but does the trick.

Posted .Hi Rayados, thanks for leaving feedback to let us know of your concerns with the Nest Cam (battery). We understand that having to charge the battery oftentimes can be an inconvenience. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. That way, you don’t have to charge it more often than you should. You may also consider connecting your camera to a power outlet with the included or optional power adapter for continuous power and to keep the battery charged. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Cam (battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use, and that’s when you can use a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately).

Nest continues to disappoint

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not impressed with these cameras, and very annoyed that my older cams work better on the Nest app and these newer cameras only work on the Google Home app. I don't care which app I use, but at least make one app fully functional with all generations of cameras. I mean isn't Google supposed to be better than that? As for the cameras themselves, they constantly disconnect and reconnect, freeze, or are unavailable. I have a very expensive and powerful mesh gaming router with extenders, a high-end modem, and 1000Gps internet. There is no reason they should have such a poor signal. Lastly, the batteries are a joke even with light traffic. They claim a couple of months, I barely get a week out of them which forced me to buy and run a cable where I didn't want to. I have 11 nest devices in my home including cams, doorbell cams, thermostats, and door locks, and I have been unimpressed with all of them. If I wasn't so deep into Nest I would not have purchased these cams. But I am, so I did, and I continue to be disappointed. Only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 is because they are much cheaper than their predecessors. I do not recommend!

Setup was very easy and straightforward but the new devices can only be viewed in the Google home app and not in the nest app which is a disappointment. Quality is as expected though.
