Great outdoor Cameras.

Outside Camera. I also bought the theft shield. I gave the, Ease of use," 3 stars. Because customer service was no help at all after I needed to reset.

Easy to Install, Drains Battery Quickly

Overall the quality of the video is great, but the Google Home app takes too long to load and view. Also the camera on my front door drains rapidly so I will have to hardwire the camera.

The long loading time using the Google Home app for your Nest Cam (Battery) may be caused by a possible congestion of your network. We recommend removing some of your connected devices to free up some bandwidth space, and checking to see if you will still experience the same long loading times when streaming the video feed from your Nest camera. Once you verify congestion, we recommend contacting your Internet service provider to check your connection and upgrade your bandwidth if needed.
Hardwiring your Nest Cam (Battery) is a great idea to avoid battery drain issues. However, it's important to check the frequency of events (per day) that you get with your Nest Cam (Battery). Battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. Users can extend the battery life of their camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios for your Nest Cam (Battery):
Busy: About 1.5 months battery life (about 20 - 25 recorded events per day)
Typical: About 3 months battery life (about 9 - 12 recorded events per day)
Quiet: About 7 months battery life (about 2 - 4 recorded events per day)

The Google app and iPhone don’t seem to be compatible. I returned the cameras for a different brand. If you own an android these cameras might work well. Overall the cameras are nice.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already have a Nest IQ Outdoor camera which uses the Nest app. This camera requires the Google Home app. I know people are not happy with the Google Home app, but I will say everything is there that you get with the Nest app, it's just laid out differently. The new camera actually notifies us faster than the IQ Outdoor camera. Its so fast that if you click on the notification right when you get it the event video hasn't finished processing yet. I have my camera on a power source because I want the 24/7 video storage along with the events. Google offers the best price point for this feature at $12 per month for unlimited devices. All other solutions I looked at cost you $20 or more per month. Video quality between both of my camera's are the same which is very good day and night. I'm very happy with my purchase.

We suggest using the included wall mount for surfaces like walls. Simply attach the wall plate with the included screws, then secure the magnetic plate onto the backplate. Both of these mounting options let you power your camera with any power accessory like the weatherproof cables, or run it on battery power.
Also, we recommend having the latest version of the Google Home app that may improve camera playback controls to make it easier to play, pause, and navigate between events from the camera history view. Also, adjusting the camera settings like video quality, wake-up sensitivity, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas, can help improve your experience. And for the night vision, try to angle your camera away from bright lights, or to install the camera in a shady spot. You should also make sure that any nearby surfaces or objects (like a wall) are out of view, since the camera’s infrared light can reflect off a surface. Good but could be better

Battery life is ok. Definitely invest in the powercord so you don't have worry about charging the camera. I wish it had continuous recording. It doesn't record when I am viewing live video. Hopefully google updates this soon.

It's easy to install and the charge lasts a really long time. Besides the app, I can even monitor and watch the cameras through a browser online wherever I am with an internet connection! This is fantastic. I installed it myself, so it is battery powered and I need to occasionally charge it. I plan on buying more cameras and having them professionally installed so that they are wired and don't need to be brought in for charging.

You can even see faces. We compared security cams and this one looked like the best. We're glad we chose this one. App is user friendly, too.

New Google Camera's are obnoxiously huge

The old access was much easier to view and use. And Google made the $350 Dropcam obsolete, forcing me to buy bigger ugly white Google Nest cameras. The new cameras are huge and anything but discrete. I painted mine dark brown to blend in with my home which voids the warranty according to Google. Why are these only available in a bright white?
