With event video history, we wanted our products to help our customers understand what’s going on at home easily and showcase the important activity for you. We still offer 24/7 video history on wired Nest Cams with a Nest Aware Plus subscription, for users who want to see everything that happens at home. And we continue to invest in the use of both technologies. Also, You can connect your camera to a power outlet with the included charging cable for continuous power and to keep the battery charged. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Cam (battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use, and that’s when you can use a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately).

Hi Rayados, thanks for leaving feedback to let us know of your concerns with the Nest Cam (battery). We understand that having to charge the battery oftentimes can be an inconvenience. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. That way, you don’t have to charge it more often than you should. You may also consider connecting your camera to a power outlet with the included or optional power adapter for continuous power and to keep the battery charged. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Cam (battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use, and that’s when you can use a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately).

Our goal is to make the Google Home app the one place where you can control all your favorite Nest devices and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. Here are some benefits you can get by using the Google Home app with your Nest Cam (Battery):
- Automatic security protections such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup.
- Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, if you have a Nest Cam and a Nest Hub, just say, """"Hey Google, show me the backyard camera” to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup.
- One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps.
- Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps.

Here are some recommended steps below that you can try out to see if it might be helpful with the connectivity issue:
- Check your Wi-Fi network for possible congestion. Relieving some of your connected devices may help free up some bandwidth space.
- Check the distance between Nest Cam (Battery) and your router. Ensure that it's within a line of sight from your router.
- Check for wireless interference with other Wi-Fi hotspots or appliances and devices nearby.
