We’re also focused on giving our customers value for the price, including three hours of event history right out of the box for the first time ever. On-device processing also gives our customers smart alerts and Activity Zones, which historically have required a subscription. There's no fee to stream full resolution live video and receive basic notifications, as long as your camera is connected to the internet. Your camera could be detecting a lot of activities, as the battery life depends on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. Try to adjust the settings like the video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas so you can extend its battery life. In addition, you can plug your camera to a power outlet with the included power adapter for continuous power. The included power adapter is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use. We suggest using a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately). Contact your retailer for inquiries.

I bought two then bought three more for a total of one outdoor and four indoor. I have three in the basement to cover any water issues while traveling, one on the first floor, and one looking out the window in the backyard. The ability in low light is stunning. Note I bought the solar panel for the outdoor one.

I am using them outdoors and they have performed great, down to 8 deg F so far. The price for a multipack during a sale they had made it an easy decision.

The new Nest Cam (Battery) is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.
