Meh. Wouldn't buy again.

Cant hear audio during playback in the app and audio doesnt reach as far as other cameras out there (when i can actually hear it). For the amount I paid for these i would expect better.

It may be helpful to check that your phone’s media playback volume is turned up, and make sure your camera's audio settings are correct. In the Home app, touch and hold your device's tile Settings > Audio, and use the slider to adjust the volume. You can also turn the microphone on or off, and switch audio recording.

The magnet is very strong. It not only allows the camera to attach to the base, it can be used to attach the base to metal (e.g. metal door frame, ceiling grid, filing cabinet, etc.) so there is no need to use the screws.

Needs app integration

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is a great camera for all intensive purposes but google really needs to step up the integration between the nest app and the home app. Features aren’t available depending on which app you are using and can be particularly confusing if you have cameras from the previous generation.

I got one to watch for wildlife, one for my garage and one for my driveway. My only complaint is when you turn on notifications, you get on average, 3 per camera, per event. I need to figure out the event notifications… otherwise they work great! I paired with the Wasserstein solar panels and I haven’t had to charge at all!

They also get knocked off line easily for no apparent reason. Great quality and viewing range.

Meanwhile, the battery life depends on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Also, we suggest using the secure loop accessory, which is a cable that connects your camera to the magnetic mount and will help prevent your camera from falling if it gets knocked off the mount. If your Nest Cam (battery) did not include a secure loop in the box, please contact us to request one. Alternatively, you can use the Wasserstein anti-theft mount, which can be available at your retailer, and provides anti-theft protection in addition to anti-drop protection.

Needed to buy solar panels. Bulky. Paid for install and they just screwed it in the place it’s magnetically sticks. Don’t pay for install waste of money.

We wanted to make the Google Home app the one place where you can control all your favorite Google Nest devices and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. Here are some benefits you can get by using the Google Home app with your Nest Cam (Battery):
- Automatic security protections such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup.
- Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, if you have a Nest Cam and a Nest Hub, just say, ""Hey Google, show me the backyard camera” to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup.
- One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps.
- Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps.

Busy: About 1.5 months battery life (about 20 - 25 recorded events per day)

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We originally wanted 2 cameras but since there was a sale for 3 we spent a little extra. 2 are mounted outdoors and we kept the other 1 indoor to monitor the dog when we leave her alone. If she starts to bark or howl due to loneliness, we can talk to her on our phone app which gives her reassurance. The cameras are very clear on our phone app and we can also hear very well. It's a great product that took little installation.

I would prefer to "ignore" familiar faces and only show the ones not recognized. I like how sturdy the construction is and the ease of setup is fantastic.

I have it in a great wifi signal area and sometimes the app tells me the camera is off. I restart the app and it works. Other than that im pretty happy with it.
