Good addition for an existing Google system

Since then there had been an update that altered the recording image. Colors look a bit pale and quality does look diminished. Another thing is that the motion detection range is a bit narrow compared to its competitors. You need to stand pretty close until it begins to record. As far as the positives •Its pretty easy to setup and install •Battery life is not bad. (about 3 1/2 weeks before recharge) •The subscription plan is good for all nest cam devices and any future devices you want to add under one single price.

Wish there was a way to better secure them to building. Magnet is very strong but plastic bracket is just that plastic. If outside, can be easily stolen.

You can even see faces. We compared security cams and this one looked like the best. We're glad we chose this one. App is user friendly, too.

Battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios:
- Busy - About 1.5 months battery life (about 20 - 25 recorded events per day)
- Typical - About 3 months battery life (about 9 - 12 recorded events per day)
- Quiet - About 7 months battery life (about 2 - 4 recorded events per day)
If you're willing to try, we recommend checking the frequency of events (per day) that you get with your Nest Cam (Battery). I opted for the optional power cable to keep them powered 100% of the time. Thought about using the solar panels (like we did with our Arlo's) but that will not give us the 24/7 video history if we opt for that subscription plan. We have two of these models (and several other indoor models) and both are AC powered. Also added silicon covers. Still on the Nest trial which gives us 30 days of history, not sure if we will opt for higher subscription which gives us 60 days of event history and 10 days of 24/7 video history.

The wide angle lens covers just about my whole yard. What I like about it best is the camera is not fixed, and can be turned and twisted into just any position you might need. Too many other cameras are in a fixed position and cannot be adjusted,

Also, the only places you can see a stream for the cameras is on a nest hub, or your cell phone. I thought itd work with chromecast but it doesn’t.

Posted .Hi TexasAggie, it's great to hear that Nest Cam (Battery) works well with your Nest Hub. We do apologize for the slow streaming speed you get when viewing the video feed on your Nesu Hub. We recommend the following troubleshooting steps to see if it might be able to help you:
- Check for possible congestion in your Wi-Fi network. Removing some of your connected devices can help free up some bandwidth space. You may then check to see if you will still experience the same connectivity issue. Once you verify congestion, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider to check your connection and upgrade it if needed.
- You may also check for possible sources of interference such as the thick walls and appliances in your home.
Unfortunately, Nest Cam (battery) can only stream to a smart display screen. However, we value your feedback and we'll certainly take this information into consideration and pass them along to the right team. Very easy to install and set up. I find that the camera in battery mode only has hesitation in recording motion and misses or has partial event recordings. I recommend using the power cable( additional cost) which corrects this issue.
