No connection issues whatsoever so far, works as it should. Only Cons are, battery life doesnt last more than a month is you have it placed in a high foot traffic area. And mine did not come with the safety wire to attach the camera to the base. Other than that i recommend google home products to everyone. If they could lower the price on these cameras they would be more popular.

Nest has long been focused on delivering quality products to our customers. We’re also focused on giving our customers value for the price, including three hours of event history right out of the box for the first time ever. On-device processing also gives our customers smart alerts and Activity Zones, which historically have required a subscription.
Meanwhile, the battery life depends on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. If you still have to charge the battery more often than you’d like, you might want to consider connecting your camera to a power outlet with the included or optional power adapter. Connecting to continuous power will keep the battery charged. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Cam (battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use and you can use a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately).

Although don't like the fact that it won't give the 24hr recording feature unless it's plugged in. Overall the camera is great it does what it needs to do in my opinion.

Slowly been replacing the old nest cameras. I just wish they had the same fuctions as the old nest cameras but the new features are good as well.

Nice Cameras for Existing Google Home

Plenty of other cameras cheaper but the quality is good, one of my kids was helping install and dropped the camera and not even a scratch.

Only thing I wish is that you could subscribe for 24/7 history with the wireless cameras. It will only work when the cameras are powered with cord.

Great For Google Lovers - Google Home Software Lac

Many features such as video time scanning and clips creations are missing. No complaints of the cameras build quality or video feed. Think the shortcomings of the Google Home software can easily be remedied as long as Google is willing to fix the software. For those users that currently have Nest cameras and want to add to their arsenal of security cameras I'm sorry to say that these are not compatible with the Nest App and MUST be viewed within the Google Home app (lacking software features currently found in Nest app).

Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams. My only complaint is battery life, doesn’t last long on balanced setting. I already purchased cable, so it’s hard wired now.

I have 5 outside/inside cameras and have to use the newer app but is not as good as the older app from a few years ago.

Also, the Nest Cam (battery) is designed with versatility since it’s an outdoor/indoor battery powered device. It can be used with a set of various power accessories including two weatherproof cables with power adapter (sold separately), of 16 ft and 33 ft in length. If you find it more convenient connecting to continuous power that will keep the battery charged, which is required to get 24/7 video history if you have a Nest Aware Plus subscription, we suggest using the weatherproof cable since the included power adapter is not intended for outdoor use.

It outdoor installation required you will need a power source 15-30ft away along with purchasing the weather rated power cable. For residential use, you can’t go wrong with these. The google home app and plan for $120 a year that records everything is worth every penny. The mounts are magnetic based with an adapter for mounting purposes. Installing indoor in a commercial application would be acceptable. Outdoor commercial installation I'm still pondering that.
